Yea I believe so. I know each tune is written specifically for each flare tool (cantaloupe ID) and depending on the year car they need the 3 digits off the ECM or the one read by the Whipple software hence why you'd need the new one for your cars info and this flare tools cantaloupe ID.

Some earlier ones had an open intake allowing hot air to be sucked in. This one is enclosed with a port at the bottom for the fender well opening so that only cool fresh air is being used allowing max power.
