  1. Do you trust your Ford dealer?

I learned a long time ago...when one uncle boasted about how much he ripped off his brother in law...that you can't trust car dealers as a rule. BUT...there are exceptions that can be made. I trust one person at the last dealership...I bought 2 cars off him. I have no illusions that he is out...

  3. So I locked myself out of my car on Valentine's weekend....

I take it the keypad entry is no longer an option for the 2015?
  4. 2014 V6 vs 2015 EB or GT

Thanks all. I appreciate the feedback. I drove it up to fetch my car and once I got it into the proper RPM range, the engine came to life. I don't like having to rev engines high (over 4500 RPM) just to stay in the power band, but I admit that's a personal choice. My wife and I will be...
  5. 2014 V6 vs 2015 EB or GT

Sorry BmacMI. I was typing the response before I saw your post. I am sure the axle ratio has an impact as well (keeping the RPMs down quite a bit into the weak part of the power band from what it looks like.)
  6. 2014 V6 vs 2015 EB or GT

Thanks Bay1Stang. By looking at those curves, I think my problem was that I was just not in the powerband/not giving it enough throttle.
  7. 2014 V6 vs 2015 EB or GT

It might be the gearing or throttle response more than engine power when I used the word lacking. My DD is a 400 hp/450 tq TT sedan with an 8 speed transmission. My previous car was a 4.3 litre N.A. V8 with 300 hp/325 tq, but had an extremely responsive transmission that was eager to downshift...
  8. 2014 V6 vs 2015 EB or GT

Hey all, Last night I missed my connection, so I decided to rent a car and drive back to my house. I was lucky (?) enough to get a 2014 V6 Mustang, but being honest, I was kind of underwhelmed at how it drove. I was hoping that some of you would be able to share your opinions on how the...
  9. Question. If you own a 2011+GT, is it worth it?

I might have been one of those people standing sound with you looking at the mustang this weekend at the DC auto show. I agree the seat stain was bad in the blue gt with ceramic but I was impressed with the blue the magnetic and the ruby. Just wow...but I wish they would offer the pp in auto...
  10. Business Insider - The Ford Mustang Is No Longer A Muscle Car

By definition, a sports car is a 2 seater, so a Mustang, while sporty, is not a sports car. From Websters New World Dictionary (Third College Edition) Sports (or Sport) car - a low, small automobile, typically expensive with seats for two, and a high-compression engine. From dictionary.com a...
  11. Business Insider - The Ford Mustang Is No Longer A Muscle Car

So...if the Mustang classification is being debated, then what is it really? Is it a sports car? Personally, I don't think so. Sports cars tend to be two seaters and light, with the goal being to obtain maximum performance. The Mustang is not a Corvette or Viper fighter. Nor is it in the...
  12. Business Insider - The Ford Mustang Is No Longer A Muscle Car

I agree that the Mustang is (at at least was) a pony car....the muscle cars were the Fords listed, plus things like the Chevelle SS, GTO, GTX, Grand National, Thunderbird Super and Turbo Coupes, etc. IMHO, the muscle car tradition has recently grown another set of doors and evolved into the...
  13. Dilemma = Should I get a 2015 Mustang?

I am not saying he can't have fun. What I am saying is that hard work now can pay off big later. I grew up in just across the state line from you Jamo and I saw a lot of good smart people there goof off and spend too much of their time having fun. Some of these people even when to good...
  14. Dilemma = Should I get a 2015 Mustang?

JessV, There has been some great advice (and some not so much) here, but here are my 2 cents. You have positive equity in a recent (2011) vehicle with a 10 year, 100k mile powertrain warranty and a 5 year 60k mile basic warranty. You make $650 a month (sometimes 700) You spend $235 of that...
  15. Auto Show, philly or washington?

Thank you very much. Looks like it's the Washington (DC) auto show for us.
  16. Auto Show, philly or washington?

Thank you very much Allerick, I would very much appreciate it. As for sitting in the GT350, I know that won't happen, but if they have a Mustang with the regular seats and one with the recardos, that would be great to know. As for when I am going, that will depend on my brother's schedule...
  17. Auto Show, philly or washington?

(mods, please move this if it's in the wrong section) We are starting to look at replacements for my wife's car, and she is interested in going to an auto show. Since the last time we went (and the one I went to all the time with my Dad) was the Chicago Auto Show over 9 years ago, I don't have...
  18. Top End???

That can happen in any state. I saw something similar when I was living in Illinois. I was driving south in an 85 Toyota Cressida (so it was not a flashy car) on I-290/IL 53 in an area with 4 lanes each way. I was in the second lane (two open lanes to my left) with almost no traffic and good...
  19. After 6 months, my ruby red GT PP is here!

    Fantastic looking car! Absolutely beautiful!
  20. Wards: Where's the Eco in Ecoboost?

Driving a turbo 4 328 as a loaner right now while my 550 is in the shop. While it does do fairly well 30-32 ish cruising on the highway, that thing GUZZLES gas when you wind it up. You have to put your foot down to get it moving (my opinion) and you can see the miles to empty just tumble when...
