If it was mechanical you would be right vacuum=vacuum and boost=boost. But since it's electric, you can't use the same signal for 2 different ranges of indication. I'll break it down for you, using examples, these ARE NOT direct readings I've taken from the car. Most gauges uses a 0-5vdc signal...
Have you used any of these cam-locks on any other system? The only other dedicated drive system I've used, the adapter pulley bolted directly to the harmonic damper. The cam-locks worry me more than a little bit for longevity.
I completely understand sub-contracting to make a finished product, not a whole lot of companies are able to make everything in house.
