Hah, yea - that was not one of my brighter moments. I hadn't done a lot of research and went "welp, it's an expensive car and I want to make sure that I'm covered on engine/AC for the foreseeable future" - but luckily got educated here shortly afterwards.
I'd gotten the Premium ESP from my dealer when I got the car, before I found out about M6G. They charged me $5k. Luckily, I was within the 30 days so I cancelled it because I saw how much of a ripoff it was.
I'll probably pick up the ESP at some point before my new-car-warranty runs out, but...
It's pretty cool, there are a lot of industries that are starting to do this. Here's a good example on aircraft de-icing using virtual reality. The real thing is expensive and there are so many variants of aircraft, when you can pop on a headset and practice on the exact airframe that you're...
So it turns out there was a mixup at the dealership and they forgot to order the part - and their master tech called out sick. They were super apologetic.
Anyway, rescheduled for next week. Will update the thread after it's done for real. :)
I don't see a reason to change to the MGW shifter. I'm happy with the OEM shifter - I just want to follow through on the recall before it breaks instead of waiting until it breaks.
Was a nice day here in North Carolina, so I also gave the car a bath. And then I gave my wife's car a bath and my brother-in-law's car a bath. I realized after the fact I should have taken more pictures of it .. oh well, there's always a next time!
Yea, my dealership scheduled the service just based on the FSB without any inspection of the vehicle or back and forth. They pulled up my VIN when I called them, saw the notice, told me they'd get the part and set a date. Will have my car in the shop this coming Monday.
The only manuals I ever drove before my 350 were 1980s Mazda pickups and a 2006 Xterra that I DD'd through the DC Beltway rush hour. I'd heard horror stories about "sports car clutches" that you had to leg press to engage, so I was a little nervous.
The clutch in the 350 is amazing. Light, easy...
@galaxy I've also got the white w/ blue stripe 350 and have shown your pictures to my wife with "I want to do this" -- and she gave the green light. Thanks for the inspiration bud!
He definitely looks like he went very in-depth on his research. I didn't even know about the AutoFanatic guards when I was making my decision on what to get. That said, I've been happy with my Rokblokz. Since installing them, I haven't seen or heard rock strikes along the quarter panels or...
I'll have a new garage in another 4 weeks and am trying to decide between the two now. My space is roughly 14' x 22' and just running the numbers on the options. How much of a pain is it to trim them when you hit the edges? I've got a wide variety of power tools, but want to make it look nice...
Yesterday was pretty nice, so I went out for some fun spirited driving. When I got home, FedEx had delivered my wife's Valentine's present to the car. The floor mats are a silly and simple cosmetic change, but they look sharp especially compared to the default black that it came with.
I might...
Some discussion over in the GT350 area here: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/reverse-lockout-recall.136308/
I'm having mine done in a week and a half. Will post update there when it's done.
Re: dealership and mechanic wrecking it. I'm not even remotely worried about them wrecking it...
I think at the end of the day, the thread shows that all of us, regardless of body type, have our own opinions and there's no one true right answer. OP is gonna have to go find some seats and try them out.
If you are tall, do not get the Recaros. I'm 6'6" and I can't comfortably fit in them. If you don't track it, I can't think of a single reason why you'd want the Recaro seats unless you've sat in them before and know you're going to like the fit. Otherwise, go for the comfy chairs.
