Your buddy is right if you get the catback it just bolts right on. Only axlebacks require cutting.

I really like the stripes but my concern is if I decide to take them off in the future would there be any fading. Wouldn't the colors be off where the stripes were.

I thought Roush heat extractors were functional like the stock ones. As for opening the grill I think It will affect the aerodynamics and fuel Economy. Ford did the same thing with the 2014. They must have a reason for closing off most of the grill.
