Before my amps remote was connected to a wire in the trunk that only powered when the car was running. So unless the engine was running I couldn't adjust my amp settings which was a pain. My garage is heated so I hate leaving the door open so I can run the car. Now the amps turn on with the head...
I'll try to post some pictures this weekend. The screens don't wow me but for me it's more about the sound quality than anything else. I'm still figuring out the options on the radio but so far I love it. Having the remote for the amps instead of the splicing off the wire in the trunk was a huge...
As far as the sub, I have the Rockford Fosgate 12" powered sub and it's great. My 4 channel amp runs my other speakers so I was able to get a smaller amp. The 4200 (which I also got from Amazon) has the dedicated sub rca's so the install was easy. It definitely sounds better working off the...
For me it was about $$. This winter I replaced my headers, exhaust, rear diff., switched my seats to leather, and installed a lift in the garage. It was easier to convince my wife on a $500 head unit versus a $1000 one. I figure with CarPlay I have the gps with my phone and there really weren't...
Got everything wired up and running what a sound difference over the stock radio. My amp and speakers sounded like crap with the old system compared to the Pioneer 4200nex. Everything is working great except my rear defroster isn't working as well.
Did the reset work to get yours working Doug?
As far as the parking brake sensor they sell a bypass that you can connect to the head unit. Installing this makes the radio think you are in park all the time so you have full function of your stereo while driving. My wife's Tacoma has the wire connected to the parking brake and speed sensors...
The back up camera works off the purple wire that you connect to the wire off your head units back up camera's wire. I believe you need to use a separate microphone though.
Awesome write up Doug. Started mine last night and hope to have it done by Saturday. Did you have about 4 plugs from the car that didn't plug in to the Scosche? The rats nest of wiring behind everything to include the 6 rca's I will have back there gets me nervous for fitting it all in...
Received my Pioneer radio and accessories, now just waiting for the dash kit. Hopefully I'll have it for this weekend to install. I will definitely take plenty of pictures of the install once I do it. I already pulled out the Acm and sync module so now I'm chomping at the bit to get it back...
Looks great. Placed an order for the silver carbon. Everything I've gotten from you has been top quality so I expect this to be as well. Thanks Ed, looking forward to getting it.

It's a very tight fit. If you remove the 2 screws from the box above it you can move it out of the way some. Then it's the fun of squeezing your finger down to the release of the harness and slide the harness off the back. It's definitely a pain as I've already had to do it twice this morning...
I ordered mine this morning. I sent him an email to his gmail account and he sent me back an invoice. Jesse is great to deal with and I got a tracking number within hours of paying.
Had ordered the Hooker Blackheart and shipping has delayed 4 times for a total so far of 1-1/2 months so I decided to cancel it and try a different route. I'm going the give the Magnaflow 19099 a shot. As of right no, Amazon has it for $805 with free shipping to arrive before Christmas. They o...
Well I bit the bullet and ordered the Blackheart and BBK ceramic shorty headers. Once they're on I'll try to post a video of them. Thanks again for the input.

I'm on the fence between these 2 exhausts. I know guys have reviewed these a while back and curious what the opinions are on them now. Price point they are about the same so I'm torn which way to go.
Thanks for any feedback!
