I had the exact same problem, so did a few others earlier on I think. The A/C board seems to be very poorly manufactured, as the supplier said I needed a new one. He didn't have any replacements, though, as they stopped making the first revision. I ended up shipping my entire unit back ($75 out...
Does anything not work right now because you haven't connected that anywhere? Other possibility could be it's just an optional thing that you don't need :)
You mean the one I labeled "Auxiliary output cable" on the wiki? That one's used in the base model only, you don't connect it in a Premium (the CAN bus cable on the wiki under Premium cables is the cable with the same plug for Premium).
All the connectors just plug into one connector (physically) in your car, so you can't really mess up there. Make sure you connect that white connector (just to the right of the screen in your picture) to the black box that came with your cables. Also, the yellow RCA in your picture that's not...
I think I'm the only one with a Premium that did an install and I had the first revision (which I had to ship back, because the A/C board is busted). I'll get a replacement (second revision) soon, but in my initial install, audio worked with just the two big connectors at the bottom (that...
Do you have the Premium cables or the Base cables? Easiest way to tell is if you hooked up both of the plugs at the bottom that plugged into the CD-player unit you had, or if one is just hanging loose.
Just an FYI for folks: the guy said they don't make the v1 (the one with the unit separate from the screen) anymore, so they don't have any replacement parts (makes you wonder why they didn't manufacture a bunch for replacements).
My only option now is to ship the entire thing back to him to...
No, the Premium wiring harness already hooks up to that by default. Check the pics at http://mustang.rajenki.com/Tesla-style_head_unit/Cables#Premium_model_cables. The green/white wires connect between the two Premium cables and it goes directly into the large connector up top.
Point is, it's the same wire on the base harness that goes into the CAN bus connector. I agree with you, but it was just to test. There are no instructions for the Premium harness.
There's no signal from the back camera if that wire is not connected. I only briefly connected it so it would work, but it didn't. It's fine with the stock unit still.
Very curious to find out if your unit works properly. I have the non-working A/C, reverse camera that's messed up and the RPM gauge isn't working (speed works). If it's just my unit, I'll likely need a completely new one, with so many things busted.
Sounds like it, yeah. I have been e-mailing with him and he told me basically that I need a new A/C board.
PatrickHenninger, he mentioned you sent you an additional two boards and it would take about a month for them to get to you. Do you know about this?
The bad news is that he can't send me...
Really curious how the other Premium installs will go. Here's how my back camera looks right now: https://gfycat.com/CaringMedicalArcticfox
And this is the A/C UI controls (hardware buttons don't do anything): https://gfycat.com/QuickFaroffImpala
If your USB drive is larger than 32GB, soldier's method won't work. In those cases (or always, if you want), use this tool: http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm
Hope one of the others with a Premium will install it this weekend, so we can compare notes.
This is the connector that goes to the little CAN bus box with the Premium cables:
That orange wire is just a loose cable (with the end split, so you can connect it somewhere). If I hook that up to...
