I installed my K&N CAI about a week ago. Installation was straight forward. I did notice something new. Something that was not there before. When driving around when the RPM hits about 2.5k I hear sound coming from the engine. Air the be specific. Not quite sure how to describe it. Like a vacuum I guess? Should I be able to hear engine sucking in air?

I have the K&N CAI and I can hear it with the windows down. That is exactly what it is, the vacuum created by the engine pulling air in. I can't really hear it with the windows up FWIW.

Okay good. Just wanted to make sure haha. Yeah I only hear it with the windows down. Kinda sounds like a mini turbo!

I had the same concern after I installed it too lol. Makes sense, it's a CAI...

In theory it should be less restrictive and flow better with lower intake temps. This all translates to more power. Can't say I've seen a difference in the temps, but I am sure if flows better. Either way I'm glad I did it, for the sound power bump and looks. As a bonus it makes it easy to grip the oil filter from up top since the airbox is out of the way.

Yes the air sucking in is perfectly normal. I love how it sounds at WOT :D:D
