My Ragtop appears to have a greasy substance on it. I've tried alcohol, mineral spirits which leave a black residue on a rag. I have some picture of it. Maybe tree sap. I don't know. Anyone else have or had this problem or know how to clean to remove. I wanted to treat the top if I can get it like new clean.

Try Raggop cleaner. Or Woolite (dark bottle) laundry detergent for darker colors. I've used it when I ran out of raggtop.

May cut through that sap or grease better for you.

Good lord, don’t ever use mineral spirits on a convertible top! Alcohol might be safer, but I would discourage even that. You need to get a good brush designed for convertibles (not a dollar store scrub brush) and patiently use a proper top cleaner, or as suggested above, Woolite Dark, which is what I use when washing.

AutoGlym Hood Protector. Comes with cleaner and protector. I’ve treated mine about five times, now the hood has droplets when it rains.

I have the same exact problem with my top. Dealership told me it is the adhesive seeping through and I need a new top. They were not helpful at all.
