The burble comes from the additional components and, more importantly, the tune. Good read on the birth of burble here:

There is also another thread on the differences on the B v GT exhaust. I recall something about part muffler numbers being different, but that may have just be the tips (which is mentioned above). I would also assume the valve openings are altered to give the bullitt a little more at each level, but thats my assumption.
