Just did a service on mine. It’s been a little rough running until full warmed up. I decided from what I was read the intake valves are carboning up. So I bought the Seafoam upper valve treatment for DI engines. Followed all the directions, let it heat soak for 45 minutes, then took the car for a ride. Smoke smoke smoke. After the 4th pull it cleared out. I will say the car now idles great, super smooth and is pulling like a freight train. Give that a try. $10.00 at Walmart.
Sea foam and ecoboost engines are a really bad combination! http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Ecoboost+and+Sea+Foam

Not regular Seafoam, I’ve been using this method on my car since 10K now has 31K. My wife’s EB Escape, now with 50K. What Ford is saying is that a carbon particle can maybe get in the turbo and ruin it. If you do this every 10K no issues so far.

I'll wait until Ford says that they won't deny a warranty claim over using it first...this is also the problem with one of Sea Foam's competitors, who claims that they won't ruin the turbo, but when you press them on why they haven't gotten Ford's approval for a cleaning agent, you get crickets.

P.S. It's not just carbon particles that can damage the turbo. Sea Foam is a triple whammy: it works its way into the turbo bearings and eats oil, and it raises the exhaust gas temperature over what the turbo is designed for.

In the meantime, if my intake valves need a cleaning, I'll take my car to a BMW repair specialist and get the valves media blasted with walnut shells.

Mine was breaking up bad at wide open throttle and turned out to be bad 1 and 2 injectors and coil packs.
