Come to think of it I wasn’t either. I got dragged kicking and screaming into to it. But over the years I realized that producing music and rubbing shoulders with the big wigs of the industry only drained my wallet, no girls, no status, etc.
Meanwhile everyone else around me was having the time of their lives...
One memorable moment had me pouring booze down the sewer at the back of this concert I was putting on. One of the guards (I won't tell you who was paying his salary there) came up to me wanting to know what was going on and burst out laughing (I didn’t have a liquor license for that event). And that says it right there - big shot music guy.
Whenever I see a stage that rises up to the sky I don’t get impressed but wonder how much hassle they had getting the building permits for that!
I owned a 73 Mach 1 when I was 17. It took a little over 40 years, but all my daughters are married and now I'm back driving a mustang. The Keith Urban video needs one more scene that shows the dude getting a mustang after his kids are gone.
