I had a persistent rattle that was driving me crazy. I traced it down to the faux metal trim around the digital instrument cluster. The bottom of this piece has a great deal of range of motion and can buzz under the right road conditions.

I'm not sure if the traditional IC suffers from this issue.

If you remove the trim piece you an easily pop off the silver trim by releasing the clips on the back side.

With that off I put a line of liquid gasket around where they join together and made it a little thicker around the bottom ends. Then I let it dry for 10 minutes and reassembled.

The rattles are now gone!

I may be taking my cluster out again this weekend so I'll try to get some photos this time.

When I had the trim piece off I could shake the assembly in my hands and hear the rattle.

On the digital IC the silver bezel is just held in by two clips on the bottom. So it just pops right off if released from the back side.

I'm not sure how different the digital cluster is from the analog.
