It's a global setting. It's a decision made by Xenforo, not by Mustang 6g.

To go into a little more detail, Xenforo decided they wanted to add the page and post number to the end of the address of the URL. Because of this, if people had a choice to select a different post displayed per page option, the URLs wouldn't work for anyone besides what the default was set to.
