Did the $750 include labor? If not, you can buy the part from the above link and just pay for labor. Many shops will let you supply your own parts and they just provide the labor, especially if the part is OEM. If your dealer won't do it, I suggest you tell them to kick rocks and find yourself a...
Yeah I think it was a combination of thinking 1) those foam blocks weighed more, and 2) there were other beefier components with denser materials that would also come out with the back bench. TIL.
Hah. This makes me feel even sillier for thinking the seats would weigh more than 30 lbs.
Looks good. Although to be honest, I'm surprised the rear seat delete only saves 30 lbs. I always just sort of figured it would be closer to a hundo or so.
Hmm, I'm not sure that's what the current market seems to be indicating. Low mileage and excellent condition for 10K under? I think those kinds of cars are going for close to MSRP... Although "highly optioned" does introduce a lot of variables. The more expensive the options, the bigger the...
I assume that's just a random picture since it doesn't match the picture in his icon... Plus, isn't that white "venom" an S650?
That said, I don't know if my explanation makes much sense, either, since I have no idea why he would attack a picture of a random car to this post...
Normally I would agree with you, but this thread has gone on seven pages, with myriad suggestions, and he just keeps telling everyone why their advice won't work for him. Plus, some of his explanations for why an idea won't work are a little suspect. Hell, a good chunk of suggestions here he has...
Right. And you just told me why they require that. You made it sound like you could easily afford 1.5-2K rent, and if that was the case, that means you should be saving at least that much every month right now. Which you just said you are not.
Unless there are somehow expenses you have right...
If you "easily" have $1.5-2K available to pay rent, and you currently are not paying rent, that means you're saving at least that much every month, right? Presumably more considering all the utilities you would have to pay as well... If you stash that away in a brokerage account, maybe sticking...
"literally" lol
I know this process is quite expensive and painful in some other cars (such as my Cayman), no matter which direction you're going. I'm surprised to learn that it's simple here, apparently even if you're going from manual to power seats?
Anyway, I'll take the L on this one. TIL.
Hah, fair enough. That is a beautiful config. Speaking as a fellow owner of a yellow 5.0 S550 with a manual (and the leather sofa seats), I fully understand your attachment. I absolutely love Daisy, and even I forget how much I like my build sheet sometimes. I meant no offense, carry on, and I'm...
It wouldn't be my favorite thing, but I don't think I would be bothered all that much by the Mach 1 lettering disappearing. My primary goal is paint and decal protection, hopefully without sacrificing much from the one-meter+ view of the car.
Yeah, removing the decals is not an option I'm considering. That makes things much more expensive since I would likely need to get a new decal to re-apply, too.
I don't think I mind all that much if I lose the matte look with gloss PPF over the decal... but if the film wouldn't even adhere and...
Hmm I don't think I understand the difference you're describing with FJG. What is smooth on FJG that is not smooth on other colors?
I should also mention while I'm here... I'm also considering a full matte PPF. Partly for the novelty, but I also like the sheen it could bring out from an...
Thanks for the input! Yeah that was one of the options, not covering the decals. I've heard that the decals will take a beating over time, mostly from sun damage IIRC?
I forgot he did mention what you said about the matte decals becoming glossy. I don't think that would bother me too much, but...
