  1. To Cat Delete or Not, after blown engine?

Stage 2 Gen 3 Whipple, 3.625" pulley, whipple tune with factory stock exhaust from headers to tailpipes. No issues after over 30,000 miles and car runs 10.80s@130 consistently at the track. PD blowers are more sensitive to intake restrictions than exhaust restrictions -- even with cats -- for...
  2. How much oil are you using?

I've got over 33,000 miles on my whipple engine using Amsoil 5w20. My car burns about a half quart every 10,000 miles which is around my change interval. Car has over 42k... I broke my engine in hard - WOT right out of the dealership out onto the freeway and up to 120mph.
  3. Baer Brakes locked up

I'm running the Baer drag brakes - no such issues. Curious, do you brake spool your turbos while driving down the freeway for roll racing? I can imagine the heat that would generate could warp the aluminum calipers causing something like this. These brakes are designed to be light, not endure a...
  4. 2018 Mustang GT A10 Whipple Stage 2 Engine Rod bent

I have 42k on my car (35k has been running a whipple, big throttle body, 3.625" pulley, whipple canned tune). My engine is otherwise stock including opgs/timing gear. Car has been flawless so far. The one thing that will kill these engines with any blower is doing excessive, high speed runs...
  5. went to the track last nignt and would like opinions!

My point is, chill out. We all come from humble beginnings just like you and your neon. No reason to get disrespectful to others. No need to perceive every difference of opinion as a challenge to your ego. You can keep acting like a know-it-all but no one is going to listen to douchebag no...
  6. went to the track last nignt and would like opinions!

Is this the car you went 1.6s stock with? Asking for a friend :)
  7. went to the track last nignt and would like opinions!

I agree... the folks calling a 1.9 60ft pretty bad on street tires have a warped sense of what's normal for most people. In truth, most people on street tires are averaging over 2.0x 60ft times. When I say average, I mean all people at the track.. not an average of only those people who have...
  8. 15 Gen 4 Whipple PBD Cal...What will it make?

What's important to remember about positive displacement superchargers is that they move a fixed volume of air. The pulley ratio determines this. The gains one will get from opening the intake, opening the exhaust, etc, all boils down to removing parasitic losses that "steal" power produced by...
  9. went to the track last nignt and would like opinions!

I run 25 psi in 20" Nitto 555R drag radials and have cut high 1.5x consistently with the current setup. Lowering the pressure doesn't improve my 60' and I just see MPH drop slightly. Of course, I'm using 20" rims so can't get away with lowering the pressure too much. Before the whipple, best...
  10. 2015+ Anyone break stock driveshaft at the track?

I bought an iron diff housing from Ford with a 3.55 gear already setup and installed it. The iron housing won't snap. I also upgraded the mounting bolts to 12.9 hardware from Steeda as the bolts are now the weakest link. So far so good, car has made several passes without incident. I think...
  11. 2015+ Anyone break stock driveshaft at the track?

Around 700 rwhp and in terms of launch, it was as simple as stomping the throttle (automatic car). The track was prepped really good. The run prior to the breakage, I ran a 1.61 60' on Nitto 555R drag radials (3.15 rear gear). This particular run, it bit even harder but snapped. Tony
  12. 2015+ Anyone break stock driveshaft at the track?

No the front arms of the differential housing that mount into the chassis broke completely off the housing. Only the rear cover mounts were able to avoid snapping. The bolts were in great shape :) Keep in mind, this is an aluminum housing and I'm not the first to snap one.
  13. 2015+ Anyone break stock driveshaft at the track?

I broke mine but it was after the front mounts on the differential snapped off which caused the cascading failure to the driveshaft. I bought an aftermarket driveshaft to replace it but I couldn't get the vibrations under control so went back to a stock drive shaft. No issues...
  14. Best oil for the rear whipple car

My original comment still stands...if you're running a traction-lok diff, don't add it with Synthetic. The traction-lok will work better. And here's a another trick, when you finally develop the one-wheel peel with your Traction-Lok diff, order some Redline 75-90w NS or 75-140w NS fluid. It has...
  15. Best oil for the rear whipple car

You don't add friction modifier to Synthetic gear oil. It will only allow the friction discs in the traction-lok to slip more.
