Maybe I’m off. But I can see the dealers point of view.
Think how many people would start lemon law’ing a car they were tired of or had buyers remorse if all it took was a complaint of a problem that the dealer had no proof even happened or couldn’t replicate. I under stand and if it was...
I have no idea on the recorder. I figured the ecu logged them. It only threw codes the first time. And the dealer replaced a bunch of parts including the valve body around 2,000 miles. The next time to service department the tech said the tranny was going through the relearning process. After...
I tried to get the dealer to take care of it.
The dealer said there was nothing he could do if if either he couldn't replicate the problem or it was throwing codes.
Having the wheels lock up because your tranny misses a shift make your heart pound. Even more so when your going around a...
Well I finally am rid of my headache. I had my mustang (2018 GT 10spd)in the shop for a new valve body at just over 2,000miles. And ever since it would miss a shift once in a while. The dealer was never able to replicate it, but every few hundred miles it would lock the rear end up when shifting...
Do you have another car besides the truck? I would hate to think of kids in the back seat of my car all the time. I would keep the Tacoma and afford what you can for a 2nd car.
I also have a Tacoma and mustang. I think they complement each other well, but I'd send the Mustang down the road...
Dealer said to give it 500 miles to relearn before they can look at it again. It is going to be a long 500 miles.
Now on top of the slow shifting and feeling like the TC unlocks randomly it is starting new problems and I am getting a little frustrated. As I was driving at 40'ish and tried to...
Thanks. That seems to be the case. I have talked to my dealer about it and they said the trans needs to relearn.
I will follow back up with my dealer next week. So far I love the car, but would be happier with a 6spd at this point.
I got my car back and they replaced the valve body assembly.
I have been having a problem with slow shifting and once in a while it will feel like it slips in gear from about 5-7k. If it was a manual it would feel like the clutch slipping, but since it's an automatic I'm not sure.
Maybe mine was something else, but my A10 did that a few hundred miles before it pooped the bed. Shift solenoids went out and has been back at the dealer for the last week waiting for parts. I'm hoping to have it back within the week
Just got a call from the service department. They said they are ordering a complete valve body, and that there were a bunch of codes thrown. I asked if there might have been any damage done from the missed shifts and they said no,
Right now looking like at least another week without my car.
preliminary inspection found the shift solenoids are going out. Going to open it up and see what other damage there is inside. And the tranny fluid isn't in stock so it'll be 5-7days just for that. They can't tell all that's wrong with it until they pull it apart.
So I'm left with either...
I'm pretty sure it was a 12/17 build date. I'm thinking it's probably a sensor going out, but I have an appointment tomorrow to get it looked at. I'll report back.
