it’s been 5+ months since I started this thread. As I indicated in my original post, I had already long since given up the hunt for a GT500. This experience didn’t exactly get me going again, at least not in a meaningful way. When the dealer said they’d call me about that car “in a few days,”...
thanks for clarifying... I understand now why so many of the painted stripe cars are also CFTP. If you’re lucky enough to have a golden ticket and you’re sitting down to order your car, you’re probably going to check the CFTP box first! I don’t imagine too many people “waist” their golden...
So of course with time to kill waiting for my GT350, I wandered into the showroom and inquired about that car. The story is that it is for the owner’s son. They said they’d call him and ask if he’s willing to give it up, then get back to me in a few days...
I ain’t holding my breath.
Sorry is this is old news guys, but while getting the oil changed in my GT350 today I noticed a GT500 sitting at the dealer (tucked away, covered in dust, not in the showroom, likely waiting for customer to pick up)...
Anyway, it’s a non-CFTP car but it has painted stripes! I didn’t think that...
Highly doubt it maintains exhaust mode when shut off. My GT350 doesn’t; it always starts up in quiet mode. I seem to recall that Speed Phenom also addressed this briefly in one of his recent videos.
I also think it’s a little frustrating that Ford couldn’t manage to make the Recaros...
Speaking of fenders, I kinda wish they’d maintained the fender vents from the GT350. It’s a minor complaint but has always been a design feature I like on the Shelbys.
I’m sorry guys, I promise last post. I just checked my “spam” folder and couldn’t resist posting this gem...
An official quote from the dealer to buy THAT car for $80k.
“The price we can offer you on the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 you requested is listed below.”
In my business, a quote is a lot...
Sure. But just so we’re clear... I was actually happy to stop posting yesterday... until you called me into question and your guy sent me that passive aggressive text...
Moving on... I actually spent the day looking at other (non-Ford) cars. Kind of crazy how different the dealership...
since now you are now questioning my integrity, I’ll give you a blow by blow. I went back and looked at my call log.... 10 minutes total.
I put in an Internet inquiry
Your guy called me within 5 mins
I said I was calling about the base GT500 on their site
He said it wasn’t available
I was...
Let me clarify something. I didn’t mean to suggest the VINS were fake. I probably turned up the contrast too much. Sorry. Words matter. When I said they aren’t real what I meant was they are advertising cars to me (and all y'all) that we can’t have. So in that sense, real or not, they aren’t...
Actually no, they did NOT. One offered take my money with zero allocations to offer. The other tried to sell me an entirely different car. Neither dealer have the car or line of sight to to the car. So no, they did NOT say they could get me one. And that’s before we even address the fake price...
