  1. Are headers worth it over just going catless + catback

Early 70’s yes, by 1975 unleaded was at nearly every fuel station in the USA. All gasoline on road vehicles from 1975+ where manufactured with a catalytic converter thus requiring unleaded fuel.
  2. Are headers worth it over just going catless + catback

Remember when Shell introduced ā€œReformulated Gasā€ that’s about when the ā€œOMG that smells horribleā€happened.
  3. Are headers worth it over just going catless + catback

Not too long ago I pulled up to fuel up at Costco, premium was 6 something a gallon…. I put in Regular that day so I’d have some extra lunch money.
  4. Help about 5w-20, 5w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-50 oil

@MRASPHALTO1 So I’ve listened to your video enough to say that motor is not firing on all 8 cylinders. Actually it sounds a bit like a diesel……. Time to pull the plugs and do a compression test. I’m assuming if you took it to have the oil changed you’re probably not going to do your own...
  5. Help about 5w-20, 5w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-50 oil

    That sounds horrible.
  6. Help about 5w-20, 5w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-50 oil

Interesting 0W-40 has been spec’ed for the corvette for awhile, Mobil Supercar 0W-40 if i’m not mistaken approved for track and street.
  7. 8-4-1 Headers (Video)

@TreeFiddyAre Good thing that was a fake double or nothing bet…. Well, best of luck to you.

  9. 8-4-1 Headers (Video)

As speed increases so does engine RPM’s and with that comes higher vibration frequencies. I’ll raise my fake money bet double or nothing it’s steering shaft to header clearance and possibly a slight motor shift to one side for added clearance. 304 SS grows a lot when hot.
  10. Help about 5w-20, 5w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-50 oil

0W-40 or 5W-40 in your case, keep it simple don’t over think it. To make your head spin, for dedicated drag racing you’ll want 0W-20 or 0W-16. Actually thereā€˜s a member on M6G running 0W-16 that lives in Hawaii, search markmurfie.
  11. Help about 5w-20, 5w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-50 oil

Since you decided on a weight I’ll add a bit more info. to current major oil brands. Since API has instituted gasoline engine oil rating ā€SPā€ a few things have changed, one is Castrol EDGE ā€Fluid Titanium Technologyā€ is gone to the wayside. Castrol ā€œSPā€ additive package currently is more...
  12. 8-4-1 Headers (Video)

Will be interesting what they find wrong. My fake money bet is on the steering shaft to header tube interference especially knowing the steering shaft has to be disconnected for header install.
  13. Help about 5w-20, 5w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-50 oil

I’d run 0W in Dubai if I lived there. 0W-xx oils are built on a better base oil than 5W’s The lower W number is really about getting start up oil to the cam journals as quickly as possible, as mentioned there are no bearings supporting the cams, only aluminum.
  14. Help about 5w-20, 5w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-50 oil

GDFI noise possibly. Oil; 5W-40 or 0W-40 Brand; Anything that is local retail and in stock, Castrol Euro or Mobil Euro. Coyotes are DOHC bearingless cam journals so cold oil pumpability is critical, with that only use 0W or 5W…. 40wt gets you a robust additive package that 30wt or lower doesn’t...
