Too bad none of us will live to see the value of these cars go up. If one could set the value so far out of bounds as to "misrepresent" the miles on the odo...
FWIW I took my old ELM327 and added the switch to flip into MSCAN mode. It's WiFi, and it works fine for me. I'm only using it to flip bytes not real-time reading while driving.
I think what we really only need is to know the significance of each byte position in the string. The name of the memory address is just a bonus to make it easier for us to follow w/o the need for cross-referencing every address.
I deal with this stuff all day at work (for other stuff) but...
