I didnt see it mentioned above, but brake fluid should be one of your first upgrades.
Something like Motul.
After that, pads and stainless brake lines.
600cc 4 strokes are some of the funnest bikes you can possibly be on (at the track).
I did the Freddy Spencer Grand Prix school (Nicky Hayden was in our class too) and we used the Honda 600 and they were a lot of fun specially as the speeds kept on climbing.
You can trash them and they just...
I dont know
I have had a Aprilia 250, Aprilia Mille R, a few ducs and a bunch of GSXR's.
On a road course, no bike will match even a modestly prepared car.
Also, comparing bikes, a 250 will require a much better rider since that bike requires so much mid corner speed, whereas a 1000 will be...
How is it not??
I gave you an example of a PRO rider on one of the fastest motorcycle platforms in the world comparing against a forum member driving a Mustang?
On a track with a LOT of straights?
Here is another comparison, this is superbikes from a couple of years ago.
And, FWIW, I have...
I dont think so.
It's biased towards the bike.
Put an averarage or above average rider on a bike, then put similar skilled driver in a car and the margins come down immediately.
Just to put things in perspective here...
Toni Elias (former MotoGp rider) did a 2:10 at COTA on a superbike.
The best Mustang time is 2:24 (camaro 2:16)
The bike should be MILES ahead in terms of lap time. But it's not.
Put a 'regular' rider on the bike and the Mustang will be ahead...
It sorsnt matter how quick a bike can accelerate. They are traction limited. In 1986 the GSXR was 2.8 sec 0-60
Whatver the bikes gain on acceleration, they lose in the turns
