It was a pretty convoluted process.
I gave away my stock exhaust when I put the touring catbacks on, so I snagged one from hillbank motorsports and had those stuck back on.
Then I went to the local PD to get the ticket signed, but they refused to sign it and said only CHP signs exhaust...
If anyone's wondering I had my stock exhaust tested last week at the ref, its 91.4 db....
The legal limit is 95db so I'd imagine any aftermarket exhaust is pretty much illegal noise-wise here. But as everyone else has already stated as long as your setup isn't completely crazy, or if you keep...
Looking for the stock gt exhaust, I'm in the LA area, but I can drive a reasonable distance to pick it up.
As a side note does anyone know if I can fit the entire system into the back if i fold both seats down? I only have 1 vehicle.
Thanks for the suggestions
I'm just going have this sound tested at one of the "referee" centers they have here. If it doesn't pass I'll just have to throw the stock exhaust back on and do it again xD. It's one of these fixit tickets so there doesn't really appear to be a fine...
So I got fixit ticket for 27151 (a) "modified exhaust to amplify noise" today in westwood. I heard I could get the exhaust sound tested to fix this, however when I asked the officer about this he said that the only way to fix it would be to revert back to stock. I have the frpp touring catback...
Took my car to the dealership, First time they replaced the driveshaft and couldn't fix the sound, had to book another appointment.
Second time they "removed the output flange, packed axle grease into the splines, and reinstalled and torqued it". The noise is fixed for now, I feel its going to...
So an update, I'm at 5400 miles now the clinking first began ~1500 miles. Same problem as everyone else.
However in the last 1-2 weeks the problem has been getting worse, I drive in sport with manual shifting 90% of the time and between first <--> second, second <--> third, whenever there's a...
yeah I had this problem very consistently between 1000-1500 miles. It basically occurred for me when going from 2nd -> 1st, 1st -> R, or R -> 1st.
The noise sorta went away after 2 weeks though, I'm at 2200 miles and it only really occurs occasionally when the car is really cold in the...
Heres a very short clip in a parking lot of my touring catbacks.

Also Gundam83, my car also makes that clink noise when i put it into R or 1st. Do you know if its a problem or anything, or is it a normal thing.
Yeah if you keep the car in D, the toggle switches just control throttle mapping, esc, and steering feel.
If you press a paddle in D the car will perform that shift but take over gear selection after the computer decides its enough. An example of this is if you're in D cruising at 70 in 6th...
Thanks, that would be great. I work in Pasadena so its not that bad of a drive. But yeah, I've gotten used to driving 20 miles for anything in LA anyways xD
So i just picked up my car last weekend from the bay area, does anyone have any suggestions on where to go for warranty work in the LA area (panels are misaligned)?
