Hey guys, went to the track last night for the first time in this car. The temps were around 80-82 on my first run, 78-79 for the second run and 75 or so for the third run. lots of idling prior to each run. 350 lb driver, under a 1/4 tank of gas. Stock car, pp, mag ride, A-10, using drag mode on each run, only turned traction control off on run two. I am by no means great at this and have not been to the strip in a while so take this info with a grain of salt. I plan to post each time I go to give data to help users since there is not nearly as much Ecoboost stuff as GT stuff.

1st Run
60' 2.218
330' 6.076
660' 9.231
MPH 91.35
1000' 11.999
1/4 14.368
MPH 94.91

2nd Run
60' 2.321
330' 6.404
660' 9.765
MPH 43.80
1000' 12.686
1/4 15.165
MPH 91.01

3rd Run
60' 2.171
330' 6.113
660' 9.408
MPH 74.77
1000' 12.313
1/4 14.823
MPH 85.70

As you can see my 60, is not great but I'm working on it. It's the MPH that I can't wrap my head around. I am wondering if my car was heat soaked and just pulling timing like crazy. unfortunately i did not record the temps but i think each time the IAT's were over 110 F.

It did feel great down low and through the 1/8th but it fell on its face through the second half. I am not certain exactly if I did something wrong or an engine issue or just plain old heat soak. I am new to the Ecoboost so please anyone with knowledge let me know. Also I did make the bone head move to use 87 vs 91 so that likely played a factor as well. Anyways regardless I will keep trying and making corrections. Oh and tire pressures were around 33 lbs and I tried to launch between 1200 and 1600 rpm, next time I'm gonna try 2000, no clue on the DA.

I wonder if the 87 gas is even more of a detriment on the 18s than before. I know they were losing 30-40hp before and it seems like the changes for the 18s was mostly tune related.

The 310/350 is for 93 only, so you're likely going to be running below expectations even on 91 (although not quite as bad).

87 gas plus known heatsoak with that intercooler = lots of timing pulled.

You can basically throw all those slips in the trash. Get some 91-93 and go back to try again. Any data you see from other people/mags/ford is going to be on 91-93 octane, guaranteed. At least take that variable out.

Good practice though lol.

Lol ya I know but again not much 18 info. While I may not be the best, I still want to post to help the community out. I wish we had 93 here.

You can buy race fuel at the pump over on Bell Rd. and 93rd. Street. It's near the Hockey Den by Westworld. Torco is local also and you can purchase Torco Accelerator. It's an excellent octane booster unlike the junk at Oreilly's.

I was playing with drag mode yesterday. I first did a run with shifter in Sport and launched from a brake stand. I then tried again with shifter in Drive and Drag Mode engaged. The car reacted much better in Drag Mode and tranny in Drive off a brake stand. She actually chirped on the 2-3 shift. All nannies were turned off. This was on a side road so take it for what it is.
