Android auto has decided sync3 needs updating...

Lately I've been having issues with Android auto (AA) and the latest issue AA error code 6, seems to think my cars software is out of date and needs to be updated anyone else having this issue? I know Sync3 is getting an update soon.

AA is great... When it works.

Check here: https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/resources-and-support/sync-bluetooth/update#/ to see if you can grab a new version yourself. (Is this a new facility offered by Ford UK? I've not seen it before and the only method I could find before to download Sync 3 updates was from the US site). Also seems to imply that sync 3 map updates are included?

I'm using an iPhone with Carplay which seems fine on Sync3 v2.3 but Carplay lacks a lot of the functionality that Android Auto has.

i'm not sure what version of sync i have possibly v2.2 as i'm experiencing these issues,

thanks for the link i'll give it a shot and let you know how i get on.

I've just ran the update thanks I was on 2.0!!! :headbonk: no wonder AA was having a fit. I'll try it out later when I go out to see if I have any further issues. But thanks for the support :thumbsup:

Well the update worked in terms of updating the car to 2.3, however I'm still having the same issues with AA. I've made the developer aware of the issues maybe they can sort it out

Greg, are you still having this problem?
You should login to your owners portal and download version 3.0 to a usb memory stick.

You should login to your owners portal and download version 3.0 to a usb memory stick.
No I think it was prime music that was actually playing up, I've not used it since I've swapped over to Spotify now. I'll try it later to see if I can replicate it, I'm on 3.0 now anyway thanks :thumbsup:

I've tried it with prime music it's a lot better than previous version I knew they've updated it recently. But it didn't crash this time so it appears fixed :thumbsup:

Hope not, I've just got a new Razer phone and have upgraded my sync 2 to sync 3 and I'm yet to test it.
