I called Diode Dynamics earlier today (this morning around 11:00 est) and was greeted by an automated male voice advising the sales people were busy but would be with me shortly. This same message kept advising me of this right up until we hit the 5 minute mark. At that point the message changed to basically "Sorry about your luck, their too busy and you'll have to call again later." Given I don't have all day to make phone calls, I used the e-mail capability on their site and sent them a message. I advised of the 5 minutes I wasted and then provided them with my phone number so they could call me. I never got a call. As much as I would like to have many of their products (almost $200. worth) I have to wonder if they really want or need the business. So what is it guys; why no return call for a sale ? This is not how to win or keep customers, just sayin'.

Well, an entire weekend has past and still no response on their own vendor thread. Apparently, Diode Dynamics will not answer phone calls, provides no way to leave a message, nor do they respond to e-mails on their site. So how is a person supposed to place any oder when you have a question related to a product ? Maybe this thread needs to go outside of the Diode Dynamics vendor section to get more exposure to people who can help. This is simply mind boggling that a vendor doesn't respond to a potential customer who has tried every method possible to contact them. Does anyone out there think this is an acceptable way to treat customers ?

Have you tried just sending the vendor a PM? That would prolly be the smartest thing to do instead of making a thread and get you the answer you want.

I apologize, but we have been receiving extremely high call volume and a large number of phone calls this month.

Our customer service team responds to emails within 24 hours during the week. (Our offices are closed on weekends)

Feel free to send us a PM on here, or give us a call at your earliest convenience today: (314) 205-3033

If you've emailed us already, you'll be receiving an email response shortly

We appreciate your support!

Thank you,
Nick C.

Iceman2733, thanks for the advice. Would have done a PM had they not had an internal e-mail on their site that to me was the smartest thing to do as it is more direct and best chance for a response. If they are not responding to phone calls or e-mails, I suspect a PM wouldn't work either. Besides, I wasn't looking to get an answer to my question via PM or e-mail, I wanted to find a way to talk with someone. In that e-mail I gave them my phone number so they could call me, but never heard anything. At least not until Nick C responded to this thread, which is the only way I have heard back from them and proves the thread apparently worked best. As I said, thanks for the advice and you have a good holiday.

Again, I apologize if you hadn't received a response yet. Your business is important to us, and we appreciate your support.

We are working extremely hard to assist customers with detailed information and provide quick response times.

Nick, I have made that call right now and have already heard the automated response that wait time is less than 5 minutes. Let's see if I actually get through this time.

Well, at 4 minutes 36 seconds I got the automated message that "you were unable to take my call at this time and to please try again later". I don't know what more I can do here, Nick. I'm not going to continue to call multiple times during the day. I don't have the latitude to do that. My job working with our military demands constant attention. I gave you guys my phone number and asked you to call me. Isn't that something that can be done or is that asking too much ? Please PM me if that will work better for you.

You will get an email reply by the end of the day tomorrow. I completely understand your frustration, and I'm sorry for the trouble. Mondays are always the busiest day of the week for us, and we are honestly just extremely busy right now with the holidays. We are currently training additional new sales staff to help reduce the wait time on the phone.

Again, you will most certainly receive a reply tomorrow. Please feel free to PM instead if there's anything I might be able to help you with directly.

Thanks!

Moddiction - the reason I haven't ordered online as you suggest, is because I have a couple questions that need answers and that takes a human being to respond to. If there were no questions, I would have ordered online last week and this thread would not exist. I will say one thing, if Diode Dynamics was just a little closer to me, I would drive there and have a face to face conversation with them. As it stands I have family in St. Louis, Missouri so I can have them go by there and ask these questions in person. If this e-mail isn't received as promised, that will be the best way to deal with this.
