Whilst I wouldn't be against 4WD, it adds weight (something Mustang is fighting) and isn't in its DNA.

I have heard of the EVO version too from close family friend. It's very similar to how Subaru teamed up with Toyota to make the BRZ & FRS, except in the Ford EVO, they're working with Mitsubishi.
Mitsubishi will provide the AWD system, and Ford will provide the power train. That was as much as he could tell me.
My guess is that it will have the power of the gt350 with Mitsubishi Evo's AWD. American GTR anyone?

why would Ford use a Mitsubishi all wheel drive system. they already have plenty of in house solutions. m1 might be Mach 1

If they did, I would personally go burn down Flat Rock for the sake of containing a deadly disease. That body style can die a slow death and stay in drag racing for all I care. Might be a proven chassis, but still looks like shit lol.
I assume all their current 4x4 car-based setups current use a transverse engine (think RS Focus/Fusion etc). Having said that, I also assume Mitsubishi are in the same boat!
However, I like your thinking that M1 might be Mach 1

they won't announce it this soon. gotta get gt350 out first.
Oh, agreed. Although the O/P did say they'd be starting work on it next October.....although where in the development process it is is anyone's guess
