I know the more common thing to do is supercharge a mustang but I'm a sucker for a turbo. I plan on one day going with a turbo in the 5.0 so that leads me to this, does anyone have a turbo'd mustang? Even if you have a supercharger by all means leave some feedback. How's the power difference from stock? Those pulls much be so much fun. If you turbo/supercharge a GT, are the stock parts able to handle the power upgrade or do you have to spend another 5k+ upgrades brakes and engine components and what not? Thanks for the feedback!

Driveshaft, halfshafts, clutch/flywheel or auto swap if you are planning on BIG power... Oil separator/breathers when you go FI.

Good to know... Wasn't sure if any stock parts were able to hold the power gain from a modest amount of boost. Thanks

There is a FI forum you may want to post and check in there. I think you can get away with around 650-700 without changing much. There is a twin turbo kit that some have done that puts it in the 900-1000 range, but I imagine there would be a lot more involved.

Damn 900 is a crazy number to even think of. If I were to follow through with it I would just be looking at around 600-650 but I didn't want to drop a couple extra grand upgrading everything else.

Yea the components mentioned would be a good start. I think if I were going to do something in that range is start with beefing up the IRS as well.

I did it all at once - the one thing I didn't replace (fuel pump) is what failed on me.

Street. I'm not interested in 1/4 mile racing but I want to do some 1/2 mile races next year and some HPDE as well. I drive the car to work sometimes, so I wanted to be sure that nothing broke on me sitting in traffic. Then I lost my fuel pump in traffic lol. I mostly wanted the peace of mind that I can beat on the car as hard as I wanted and not worry about breaking anything.

I wouldn't want to imagine getting stuck in traffic.. I wouldn't really track it at all, more for my own personal pleasure. Seems like it'll be a lot more money in additional upgrades as well as the turbo/supercharger

Depends on how much power you want to make. If you're satisfied with 600rwhp, then you can keep most stock parts. Might only need half shafts to start. I built my car with room to grow. My new target will likely be 850rwhp.

Thanks for the input. That's absolutely insane. You should take pics as you get each mod put on and post pics of the build, I'd love to see the finished product, if there ever is one :)
