Anyone notice the 2 second 3/4 shift difference between this one and the R video?

One of them definitely used more RPM, there's no way there's that much difference between the two..

I noticed that too...I was getting 10.3-10.4 for the GT350R and I know it's not that fast so they must of been shifting at different RPM....I'm guessing 11.90's for the R since stickier tire and 130 lbs lighter.

For some reason the R is short shifting 2nd/3rd and 3rd/4th..by a lot.

Yeah it really stood out on the 3/4. Will be interesting to see the final results...wonder if they did that to create speculation or to hide the details knowing we would all get out a stopwatch!

I noticed that too...I was getting 10.3-10.4 for the GT350R and I know it's not that fast so they must of been shifting at different RPM....I'm guessing 11.90's for the R since stickier tire and 130 lbs lighter.

By my estimates if that shift is happening at about 112 (as some say) It should be right in the ballpark of a 12 flat 118+ pass. The 12 seconds or so from the non-r puts it more in the mid to upper 12 second range.

motor trend got a BOSS 302,0-60 in 4 flat,and the 1/4mile was [email protected] that was with 444hp.the GT350 will be 0-60 under 4 seconds maybe 3.8,and a 1/4mile of 11.8 maybe.the R should be quicker.:ford:

Most of us could run both cars well into the 11s on the right track without modifications. My 2011 with just a 275 NT05 and 420-430rwhp would run high 11.8s at 117 - full weight with a track suspension setup. I'm betting the R is 3/10ths quicker with the better tire, lighter weight, and stiffer suspension. Being conservative 11.8 Gt350 and 11.5 GT350R.

Several years ago Motor Trend got some really good times out of the previous version GT against an M3 at what appears to be this same testing ground. The video, where they were trying to determine which car is quicker in the quarter, is on youtube and they ran it many times to get the answer. The number of attempts in that video gives me hope that they may can get the GT350 to 11.99 or better.

The Shelby forum says that the car has severe problems and the car magazines can't test them . Can you believe such crap over @ Shelby American :frusty: . I'm sick of all these rumors. The car is just awesome and is just going to kick ass. The 1/4 mile run is just what I needed to see . Thanks OP.

The UAW contracts are up and of course they want more money, So there are going to be delays for awhile. :rant:

I was consistently getting 10.51-10.53 with the R and 12.31-12.34 with GT350

Anything in the 12s with a good driver is going to be a failure. If the A8 Camaro SS really does run a 12.3 and could potentially beat the GT350 in the 1/4 we won't hear the end of it from the Chevy boys. I know the GT350 isn't primarily a 1/4 mile car, but Ford has put effort into it's drag performance given it actually has a drag strip mode.
