Will i get better gas mileage with a lower octane gas like 87 or 83? With 93 octane my tank maxes out at around 220 miles for a full tank. Thanks

No, you must be driving alot of city/hard.
I use my ecoboost to commute, mostly hwy (3.55 gears), i run 93 octane and get routinely close to 400 miles per tank when i fill up.
i hand calculate my mpg (miles driven/gals of gas to fill up) and consistently average 27+

i ran a couple of tanks at 89 and saw about 1 mpg worse than the 93.

This is what I do,
1. I fill up
2. reset my trip1
3. drive til I need to fill up
4. at the pump write down mileage driven
5. fill up record gals pumped
6. divide (#4/#5)

The range displayed is based on previous driving conditions, and is not related to resetting the trip computers. The DTE (distance to empty) will reflect changes slowly, as the computer averages your most recent driving conditions. I don't know exactly how many miles or how much time it takes into consideration, but I'd guess at least 10 miles and 15 minutes... YMMV.

Tuned? it will if you are getting into it more, and more HP = more gas burned. Even if you arent hard on it, you may get a little worse mileage because baseline for tune is more compared to stock. I dont think it should be that much worse, idk im not tuned

average 23-26mpg (about even city/hwy brisk pace), and get 350 miles give or take, always 93

Depends on the tune/tuner.....I get better mpg's with my 93 tune and worse mpg's with my E30 tune.
It's a Mustang.....even an Ecoboost should be driven as such. To hell with fuel economy

Higher E content always results in worse mpgs.

That's the first time I've heard an EB owner say that. Even as a proponent of the EB, w/ that knuckedragging mentality, I have to ask why not get the 5L then?

I know the E30 tune gets worse mpgs....I had it on my FoST. And why I got an EB Mustang over a GT is because I could get a Premium EB for thousands less than a Premium GT. Even with mods (and I've done just a few so far) it's still less than a Premium GT. And I knew what the Ecoboost was capable of considering I had a FoST. My FoST would run with my bro in laws tuned and modded 2013 STi and whooped my dad's 2006 GT. So far in my EBM, I've ran with a Chevy SS, Dodge Hemi Charger, and a Cady CTS-V. I don't need no stinking GT and I didn't buy a EBM to drive it like a Prius.:thumbsup::cheers:

I actually test drove a GT just the other day because so many EB owners are swapping and like I posted the other day, I wasn't thoroughly impressed. My EB on the E30 tune pulls a lot harder and feels faster. Now, track times may say otherwise but the "feeling" was underwhelming. I'll keep my 2.3T!
