So...long story short, I bought a base Ecoboost w/ PP back at the beginning of November. I ordered the car in June, and never test drove the 5.0 at the time. I test drove one while getting an oil change on the EB a few weeks ago and immediately regretted not giving it a look before pulling the trigger on the EB. Holy hell...it feels so much more alive.

Fast forward to today, and I have an opportunity to trade up for a base 5.0 for $29,450. The dealership is offering $22,250 for my trade; lower than I would want, but they may go to $23,000 if I push enough. I only owe about half of that on my loan. My monthly payments would go up by only $15, but I couldn't care less about that since I usually pay double or triple my monthly payment towards principal each month. Insurance would go up by $5 a month...laughable.

The deal is too good to pass up, yet I still hesitate because I just bought the EB 10 months ago. I've been through several cars in the last few years, but not by choice (I will never buy a Hyundai again). This situation, however, is purely a "want" and not a "need."

So, good people of the m6g forums...what would you do?

Well your at the right place if your asking for a push to trade in to the GT, this forum has a rabid hatred of anything thats not a V8.

I got rid of my 2011 GT in December for a 2015 fusion, then I traded the fusion in June for my 2015 mustang... As long as you aren't putting yourself in a fiscally tight situation (which it doesn't seem to be) then I say go for it

call me bias but im coming from a 2010 v6 and a 2014 v6 up to the 2015 gt and i have my own reasons why i didint go with the ecoboost but to be honest while ive seen the ecoboost hate i feel like the majority of the hate has been the eco guys to the gt in the sense of bashing as to the eco being a better option either way bro you gotta do what makes you happy if you drove the 5.0 and liked it that much then trade up doesnt matter what anyone on here tells you because well youve been bit and even if you get a 600hp eco youll still want the 5.0

How the heck did you leave the lot and NOT pull that trigger. Get your fanny back and pull it!

In before... 60 vs 72 month loan
I work for the credit union where I'll be getting my loan. The term won't be changing; the existing loan is 60 months and the new one would be the same.

Not that it would matter much, since at minimum I make a double payment towards principal each month. I'd have either loan paid off in 3 years.
