OK I see some cars come with an aluminum panel and some come with plastic panels. How did some cars come with aluminum? It's definitely something I want to upgrade in the future

My GT premium with performance package came with this dash.

Yours is the aluminum dash with the PP engine turned appliqué.

The one in the picture was from the NY Auto show. For some reason I feel like mine isn't aluminum but plastic.

Plus I was talking about the Aluminum panel that was straight silver nother one that was brushed looking . Do they make that with the performance package gauges?

You have a base model GT with the dash design of a PP car? No gauges? Would love to see pics

Here's some photos of mine when I posted about a cell phone mount.

You can clearly see it's not the black faux carbon fiber dash, but it's not the all smooth dash either.

The closest thing to that dash with the PP gauges is the limited 50th anniversary dash. It is more brushed/light diamond pattern to it, but not as pronounced as the normal PP dash and in certain angles you can't even see it...just looks like normal premium dash. You'd have to order the part from Ford.

So what package group is this from?
If you're talking about the pic with the phone, that's the base V6, EB, GT dash. That picture really brings it out but it's not that pronounced and it definitely looks like plastic unlike the premium dashes.

This is the 50th Anniversary Trim dash which was also used on the 1,964 Limited Edition Mustangs. There is a small design in it that kind of looks liked a machined curve. I have this one myself and it feels like plastic but upon closer inspection, I believe it is actually aluminum with a protective coating on top.

There are 4 dash types:

Standard base model (diamond mesh aluminum)
Premium Model/Premier Trim Package (satin bushed aluminum)
50th Anniversary Trim Package/Limited Edition Mustang (axle spun aluminum)
Performance Package (engine turned aluminum)

These are in superseding order - i.e. if you have a Premium Model car with 50th Anniversary Trim package but have PP, you will get the PP dash.

Actually the V6 only comes with the carbon fiber looking black plastic dash. That is not what is shown in the pic you posted.

Below is a picture of the V6 dash - thanks to MagneticA...

So much confusion with dash trim panels lately :O

Base B6
Plastic - Carbon Fiber Pattern (3 vents only)

Base Ecoboost and Base GT
Aluminum - Diamond Mesh Pattern (3 vents only)

Premium Ecoboost and Premium GT
Aluminum - Satin Finish Pattern (3 vents only)

Base & Premium Ecoboost and Base & Premium GT WITH Performance Package
Aluminum - Engine Turned Pattern (2 vents + 2 gauges)

Premium Ecoboost and Premium GT WITH 50th Anniversary Package
Aluminum - Axle Spin Pattern (3 vents only event thought picture shows 2 vents + 2 gauges)

1964 Limited Edition (LE) GT
Aluminum - Axle Spin Pattern (Special version WITH 2 vents + 2 gauges like previous picture above)

Premier Trim has no effect on the finish of the trim. Performance pack overrides ALL other trims since it is the only production version with 2 vents + 2 gauges. As far as I know, the LE Axle Spin with 2 vents + 2 gauges was custom made for the 1964 cars as I haven't found a PN online anywhere with that finish.

Sources please ;) Also, the picture in your post is the satin aluminum, not the 50th anniversary package.
