First post...

So my good friend wanted to drive my 2015 GT. He started out fine in 1st gear but he up shifted to 4th gear! The car almost stalled.

The after several minutes of driving, upon entering the interstate, he started 1st gear, then 2nd gear then he accidentally shifted to 5th gear!!! Car almost stalled again.

Did he hurt anything? Car drives fine as usual.

Thank God it wasn't a downshift.

Didnt hurt a thing. Heck, the previous models had a shift skip from 1st to 4th out of the box. I go from 2nd to 6th just about every day.

Edit: I go from 5th or 6th to 2nd pretty often too LOL.

Oh thank you sir. You saved me from crying myself to sleep tonight!!!

Wait so you can go from 2nd to 6th on this stang? At what RPMs should I be at?

I was worried why it would stall though.

Typically when I jump on the highway and wind it out in 2nd and drop to 6th since that is the pace of traffic. I suspect your friend was considerably lower in the RPM range but it still wouldnt hurt a thing. The shift skip was at ridiculously low RPM from Ford (right around 20% throttle IIRC). Dont sweat it, nothing happened.

You are right again madweazl.

We were at a lower RPM on both occasions. First missed up shift from 1st to 4th was in the apartment complex just passed the first speed bump so we were driving really slow.

Thanks again for putting my mind at ease!

I started in 3rd the other day when I wasnt paying attention to surroundings. Took a bit more clutch than normal but actually left better than I had anticipated.

I just got this car June 21st and I have lots to learn but not new to manual transmissions. It's just that I never missed an up shift before.

I haven't even thought of starting in 2nd to be honest. Does the take-off same as first?

Also when on 1st gear then taking off, sometimes I can't predict the clutch engagement on this car. But that's just probably me needing more practice...
