Not in the UK. Govt controls the prices of any plate it thinks might be desirable. You get it for life though.

The better one is GT65 PNY. Same price.

I spent ages on the DVLA site trying to find a plate that remotely involved STANG, MUS, GT V8 and even S550 but they must have gone a long time ago

MW57ANG is there, as is WU57ANG. Both £799.
It all depends on whether its important that others understand the plate I guess.

I have a 5 character plate on my BMW that others don't get but I see the significance every time I look at it. Only got it to remove the year from an older car and also because at 5 characters its short, however as time has passed its developed more meaning.

It's not going on the Stang.

Yes I like GT65 PNY better. Someone suggested on a forum that it could signify that the new GT had the DNA from a 65. I'm not a fan of plates that need explaining either! I've got my own V8 plate that speaks for itself.

Ha! I should probably have been clearer - I don't actually KNOW the owner personally - but I live very close to him and see him / his car almost every day...

I'd been tempted to knock on his door and offer to buy the number plate in time for delivery of my car - won't be doing that now!
