I purchased a MMR intake and love it. Unlike some of the other intakes it does not come with a block off for the diverter valve recirculation port. Some people have used rubber stool caps, I found a perfect way to block off the port and have the air vent to the atmosphere. Go to any auto parts store and purchase a Expand-tite 1"-1-1/8" rubber freeze plug. Then remove the rubber hose from the DV valve and the intake. Next, install the rubber freeze plug and tighten it down with a few cranks and now you have a nice air tight seal. I have had it on my car for a few days now and I personally love the sound (too each their own). A few of my pals with subbys and vws thought I bought an aftermaket blow off valve, nope I just spent 3.99 and 5 minutes of my time.

What did you do with the other end that doesn't connect to the intake? is it just off and hanging there?

would you say it will make the same sound with the stock air box with the rubber hose removed?

If you talking about the blow off sound, then yes, as that side of the tubing is stock, and the fitting should fit the stock air box too, if not you can get a smaller plug, I think it was 7/8-1".

would you say it will make the same sound with the stock air box with the rubber hose removed?
