50th anniversary welcome kit

My cover was stolen while the car was sitting on the dealers lot. I had told my salesman that the cover was important to me and to make sure nothing happened to it. He was very embarrassed that it was stolen and was able to get a new one for me, shipped to my house from FRAP still in the wrapper. I was pleased to say the least. Maybe your dealer can get one for you.

The pic came in a small white envelope in the glove box (unframed). It is easy to miss.

Zip in my car. Good dealership but 3 weeks of price haggling over their one and only allotment to get them to MSRP has left things friendly but they are not really motivated post sale....so getting them to track down info on the leather portfolio, shipping cover etc has been nil. They certainly are not going to track down a "picture" for me.

Before I go nuts on eBay and pay stupid money for the wrong thing--just what is the picture in the envelope of? Size? Anyone got a pic of the pic?

Thanks- I'll be reaching out to Rachael shortly for my missing items, once I determine what is actually missing. My dealer is NOT being helpful but I also don not want to demand things if I'm not entitled. If you guys can review my questions/data below I'd greatly appreciate it--I'm working on collecting data for a FAQ on these cars.

I think the cover is beyond Rachael's abilities - while the shipping covers should stay with the car I can see a dealer arguing it is part of the shipping process and excluded. Do all Fords now get covers or just these Limited Mustangs?

I know these covers are unique with 50th logos-I'm just wondering if a generic (blank) cover is used on regular stangs. If so, dealer personnel may be used to just tossing them out upon arrival. If a transport cover is a totally new system and only being used on these Limited Editions that does put a different spin on how dealers should be dealing with them giving them to buyers).

Right now I'm going through all the forum posts and trying to assemble a detailed list/FAQ that maybe a Forum Mod can "stick" so we (and future buyers, future collectors) all have a clear cut list of that should have been with the car and the proper name for the item.

Some confusion seems to have existed for a while as to a "certificate" being included and the signed build team/car picture being included. It appears to me now that they are one and the same and not 2 different items. 1 item- 2 different descriptions used-correct?

It also appears (if I'm understanding correctly) that WITHIN the shrink wrapped user manual/warranty guide (called mini guide by most) that came with the car there should have been a "card" (size???) that indicates a formal Guide will arrive later. There appears to be one pic of this card on this or another thread (losing track of threads). My shrink wrapped user manual kit is semi sealed--one end broken open (NOT at the seams) and NO such card is in it--but I have not fully broken it open (would prefer not to) but was able to squeeze the kit to see between the manual booklet and the warranty booklet.

Where was your Nav SD card. Mine is inside the shrink wrapped manual packet (it was a third item) but my packed was also broken open and the SD card is only the side where the shrink wrap was cut--I originally assumed from just normal handling in the factory but now I'm wondering if it was broken open to take the card announcing the limited edition manual or for slipping the nav SD card into the manual pack by the dealer.

The picture (build team,/car/signed (usually) by 2 members of the Build Team came in a white envelope? Size? Again, nothing like that in my car.

Inside my glove box there is a piece of white tape--anyone have an idea as to what the tape was holding in place? I have an empty glove box with a white piece of tape (2-3in long) stuck to the inside of the glove box door.

1. 50th branded Shipping cover (a few have gotten, most do not-highly questionable if a dealer has to give it to you)
2. 2 key fobs with a key ring on each
3. 1 glove box key
4. small vinyl tag (1x2 in) that has a bar code, number (mine 5 digits) and "save for customer records" printed on it. Assuming it is a unique code for fob replacement
5. Mini Manual kit- shrink wrapped. Inside--manual, warranty, a white card about 4 x 6 with a bar code and date on it-mine says 10-29-14 11:57, it also has a line diagram showing the kit being placed into the glove box (this is NOT the card dealing with the forthcoming gifts)
5. SD Nav Card in a holder--WHERE WAS THIS IN YOUR MATERIALS?
7. Picture-in the picture: Car (assuming matching color?) Build Team and signed usually) by 2 builders.
8. 2 front floor mats (basic black with white stitching)
9. keyed lugs (4) with key. Either installed on the vehicle or in a clear plastic bag.
10 Front plate holder (black plastic)- installed by dealer or in the trunk
11. GIFT PACK- to come in the future with a Limited Edition manual, book, certificate etc.

If you open your mini manual the card with what's coming is in that kit. I opened mine. You should demand the car cover it is part of the LE 50th Mustang. The other items you list looks right. The picture should have been with your car. Did you pull the yellow tab in the glove box?

Dave,

The covers were exclusive to the LEs only. They were the only ones shipped with covers. I also heard rumors and emphasize rumors, that cars were shipped to certian states without the covers.

In regard to the Key Fobs there are two with mini keys inside the fobs (one in each) There was a third key with a tag "save for customer records".

All the other items you listed should have been in a sealed bag in the trunk. The mats, min user guide, SD Card, Lug nuts, and front plate holder all were included in the "Loose Items" Bag in the trunk. The SD card should have been in a plastic snap case. The card needs to be opened and removed in order to properly setup the NAV.

The signed picture, which appears to be missing from several cars, was in the white envelope in the glove box.

My LE had a few random pieces of paper such as build sheets and such, and some sticky tag bar code labels. Probably just extras from production. My delaer told me those are items that are typically discarded on delivery and during PDI.

There were no "certificates" issued with the cars, these are expected to come with the Official Welcome Kits.

Husker, the manual is a full manual just mini sized to fit in the designated glove box compartment, the yellow tab pull down. We are suppoed to receive the LE owner manuals with leather portfolio in the Welcome Kits.

I do not have a picture of the key right now, I can take a picture this evening when I get home.

My glove box is totally empty--I've searched it 3 times. Except for a single piece of white tape stuck to the inside of the glove box door.
What is the yellow tab in the glove box for (didn't notice it but will look again tonight).

Again, overly nit picky--while my manual is still unopened the shrink wrap was "cut/torn" by the dealer...good cut almost the entire width-just too low to slip out a manual. But it allows me to "squeeze" the mini-kit and thus separate the mini-manual and the warranty guide and peer b=down between them. There is nothing in between them. And the pages of both manual/warranty guide flex in a way that indicates there is nothing 'stuck' inside the covers of each booklet.

I could remove the entire shrink wrap but as I'm still dealing with the dealer and probably Rachael over the missing picture and cover I'm keeping everything as delivered.

For those who opened their manuals--was the card announcing the forth coming fancy full size manual just under the shrink wrap and visable, slightly hidden between the two booklets (both negative in my case), or actually stuck inside one of the booklets?

I'm aware of the two keys inside the fobs-mine are there. But that does bring about an unanswered question as I have not opened the actual manual--I'm assuming those keys are some form of bypass in case the fob dies (emergency trunk release etc) but where is there a place for key usage other then the glove box? Sure haven't seen one--which means it is probably open and obvious in plain site and I'm gonna feel real stupid real quick.

Car was also brought home Sunday afternoon and parked-work has not allowed any real time with it since. So side from the 75 min drive home my time with the car has been about 5 minutes.

yes- I have the SD card in a nav case -say 1 1/2 by 3in ish and shrink wrapped itself. Mine was "tucked" into the mini manual package--apparently slipped under the lose shrink wrap once it was cut open.

Thanks for allowing me to pick everyone's brain on nit picky details. This dealer is actually (or intentionally clueless). Generally very nice to deal with--they usually try for mark ups on rare mustangs but will cave after it sits for a month but only has "some' respect for rarer versions. They GM saved the front bumper form being drilled for the front plate holder (front plate a legal requirement in Cali). But that is about as far as they go in terms of preserving 'unique' items.

In 2012 I looked at a Boss 302 there (couldn't come to terms over $$). While looking at the car the salesman mentioned the car cover option and then wondered to himself what it looked like ..bingo he goes right to the truck and tears open the sealed bag with the cover to see what the material was like. No clue or concern that the eventual buyer might want the sealed cover bag to have stayed sealed.

The yellow tab in the glove box opens an owner's manual storage section. Some have found their pictures in there.

the keys inside the fob will fit in traditional spots on the car - driver's door & ignition. the only difference is that the door keyhole is under the handle cover. place your left hand on the handle and it'll be the area under your thumb - that plastic comes off for key usage. the steering column plastic also comes off to reveal a key cylinder, IIRC.
