So it's official...after this today i'm officially sold on the mustang and got the go ahead to order one from the wife in jan and in mean time try to sell my current car.(if it doesn't sell, i'll just trade)

anyways, salesman made this video for my wife today so I could show her how easy it really is to get a rear facing baby seat in and out of this car since we have a 2nd baby due in April. I was actually BLOWN away by how much room the car actually has to get to that back seat.

for any of you with the whole wife/significant other says "it won't fit or it'll be a pain the ass getting a baby seat in and out" yeah well show them this!

this car has the recaro's as well.

Do the recaros automatically move forward when you pull the seat pack to let the rear passenger in?

If not, it might be a bit more of a pain getting things in and out - depending how far forward the front seat is.

I just experienced this first hand with my new gt (non-recaro). The seat does not slide forward automatically (due to power seats i guess). Was very tight without moving the front seat forward.

i had to move it forward i think with the bar under the seat like any other normal non electric seat, don't remember with the side or back levers would make it slide forward though.

We have a 19 month old. The wife has the primary family hauler (4runner), and I traded in a fullsize Ram 1500 Crew Cab. I went ahead and bought a nice seat just for the car. It stays installed about 99% of the time.
1) Its a PITA to remove and install
2) Nobody (grownups) want to sit back there anyway.

Actually putting the kid in and bringing him out is not bad.

My oldest (almost 2) has a recaro front facing seat, so no issues there either.

My 10 year old and 6 month old fit in the back fine. Lucky my wife is small because the passenger seat is real far forward with the rear facing car seat behind her. I don't keep the car seat in the mustang, but I've been taking out of the Mercedes and using it in the mustang so we can use it for going to dinner. It isn't the easiest thing to do, but I've done I a few times now so its not to bad. I've had the car a week and already have a 1000 miles on it. I can't get enough of it so I keep doing the car seat shuffle in order to get my fix.

Advice: Don't ask the wife.
don't bring this argument in here. we get it-some of you don't talk to your wives, while some of us do.

Wife and i discussed in depth. I am very glad that we decided to wait a year and get the 15. it is because of my wife that we are sitting pretty in the 15.. not in spite of my wife.

Advice - ALWAYS talk to your wife!

After 30 years of marriage, I can say that communication is a good thing. I always talk things over with her, even when I know going in that she is probably going to say no and I'm going to do it anyways. lol

On topic, after having had a 2 door coupe ('89 Probe GT) with little kids in car seats, I think you're at risk of regretting the Mustang purchase. It is serious ass pain getting them in and out of that back seat. We ended up with an Escort wagon as the family hauler throughout most of the '90's for this very reason. YMMV, but I've been there and have that tee shirt.

nah, kids are only with me in the morning for like like 5 mins from the house to the lady that keeps them during the week. anything else we got the wife's suv for. so it isn't an issue.

my mom has never had a 4 door car and i'm almost 30...so if could climb out the back of a 2door car since they 80s. my kids can too...and mustang is hell of a lot easier than a 87 300zx, 94 & 95 3000gt's, sl500, bmw's. etc
