Yes, the side scoop is part of the CS package. I know some members don't care for it but it was partially why I was attracted to the CS package because how it looks. I also love how the red trim stitching is on the interior seats and panels.
I think the side scoop is the main reason for the cs package. I believe the original GT500’s were from CS model mustangs with the side scoop. I think they make the car.

Totally agree that the side scoop makes the car and without it the Mustang looks kind of plain. Adds just the right touch to the side view.

The California Special is lot more than “just” an appearance package. It is Mustang history. Maybe not right there with Shelby, Mach, & Boss but special in its own way!

The California Special is lot more than “just” an appearance package. It is Mustang history. Maybe not right there with Shelby, Mach, & Boss but special in its own way!

Good article. I was under the impression that “Little Red” was a CS/GT that they used for the prototype for the gt500. I am glad you posted that article. I am a Shelby owner but the new CS with PP may be my next mustang.
