When Ford goes full electric. When will direct injection be ditched?
It has been officially confirmed Order banks for the 2022MY Open tomorrow (11Oct2021)- there is no Caveat, and this is regardless of any 2021 Order backlog. All Mustangs built after 03 Jan 2022 will be to MY22 Spec - regardless of Order Date. To assume Order banks will be delayed to for two months (to December) because of a backlog of MY21 builds, is even less logical than a rabid Feminist. This seems correct. I expect the shortages to goon 21 orders to be produced until the end of this year at the very least. Based on this I expect a 60 day delay. So I’m looking for order banks to open around early December.
That last line is completely unnecessary. It has been officially confirmed Order banks for the 2022MY Open tomorrow (11Oct2021)- there is no Caveat, and this is regardless of any 2021 Order backlog. Sorry, I thought you would have known, as confirmation of Dates has been stated numerous times on here , anyway this schedule was produced by Ford in the knowledge of Chip supply & Covid issues, and is compliments of Twin-Turbo:That last line is completely unnecessary.
Anyway do you have link for the official confirmation? I haven’t seen anything here.
And if it is built the last week of Dec. it is a 2021.If the car you ordered in 2021 is built after Jan 3 2022, it will be a MY22. Simple!
Sorry I must have misinterpreted you. In most cases the best solution to a "Market Value" Cover, is to go with "Agreed Value" , where you can set your cover amount (within parameters) - even if it means changing insurer. And if it is built the last week of Dec. it is a 2021.
my point, was if wrecked it is a year old car and valued as such. The insurance co. don't care that it was built in Dec. 2021. Then you end up fighting tooth and nail with them to cover the claim to the value you paid for the car. As if it was the current M.Y. and not last years car.
Thanks for the information.Sorry, I thought you would have known, as confirmation of Dates has been stated numerous times on here , anyway this schedule was produced by Ford in the knowledge of Chip supply & Covid issues, and is compliments of Twin-Turbo:
Ford-Lincoln Cars (Build Out Final Order Start Up Dates) – Donlen
- Job 1 is supposed to be January 3, 2022
- 2021MY ordering ends October 1, 2021.
- 2022MY Ordering opens October 11, 2021
- 2021MY Production ends on December 23, 2021
- 2022MY deliveries should be next February, reaching possibly up to March 2022.
This is roughly similar to last year, when there were also production delays.
My own experience this year was my my20 order automatically defaulted to a MY21 spec as it was built Apr21. The only problem you might have is if you chose a deleted Colour or Option for MY22 (like Velocity Blue).
The Order Banks are often a couple of days late, however I Hope this helps clarify the Order / Build situation.

In the absence of a schedule amendment, the original schedule is hardly likely to be repeated, and if there was an amendment, it should be reflected in Donlen link I provided.Twin Turbo provided those dates in June and plainly said "this info is subject to change"
