I was on the way to work last week and hydroplaned going about 45 mph. Any idea on the severity of the damage? I walked away with just a few cuts.

First off. Glad you are ok. More then likely since no airbags deployed its not totalled. Looks like a lot of body damage though. It will come down to cost of repairs and what the car is worth

Glad you're ok...

As for the car - looks like it may be a total loss, if not pretty close to coming within 72-75% of ACV.

Did you have your windows down in the rain to get that much mud inside of the vehicle or did the driver side window break during the event?

As a former wrecker driver, it was probably the recovery that got the car that muddy.

I would say that's totaled. Damage on every side. Not sure I would want that car fixed anyways.

I was thinking the same thing. How are you going to get the interior in the condition it was previously in before the incident.

As others have said, at least you're OK. Did you not see the water or were your tires nearing the end of useful life?

Car is over 5 years old so I say its totaled with the amount of damage I see. While your airbags didn't deployed. There might be lots of under carriage damage. I say close to 14k in damage.

Well I like to think I am a professional and would not make that much of a mess. However on a rainy night in the woods who knows. We had a few drivers that would sweep up the road and shovel up their pile and heave it into the car. I fired a few drivers for that, we always trained to bag the debris and put it in the trunk.

The reasoning is, if a car was on the border of being totaled, and the wrecker driver trashed the interior, it has to be detailed, and if you have to shampoo carpets and seats, or replace them if they get damaged, that can raise the cost of repair enough to total a car. Well we were not just a tow company, we also had a full body and service shop. So that is a potential repair that we were not getting.

I always cringe to see wrecker drivers/police on scene take a bumper that was ripped off and shove it inside the car, scratching both door panels and every dashboard panel. Or worse, the cops will put the torn off bumpers on the ROOF of the car before we get there.
