How to Enable Heated/Cooled Seats - All Models

After a little time and research, I can confirm that this mod can be completed in a 2019 mustang GT base. However, a lot has changed in a 2019 model. Thanks to my best friend and his incredible mechanical / electrical knowledge we made this work. I now have fully functional 2019 heated / cooled seats in my 2019 base GT. I can tell you that the wiring is different. The control module is now on the driver seat. We made the jumper cable as the OP described. Some of the wire colors are different. We did not tap into the wires behind the control panel for the can bus +/-. We found an unused test port plug directly above the OBD port. The plug is grey and just taped to the wire harness directly above the OBDport. That plug has can bus +/-. We were able to run the wires directly to that plug and did not have to cut or tap into any of those wires. If any 18+ owners have questions, feel free to reach out and I will try to help in anyway I can.

Update:
For anyone interested, 18-20 mustangs are plug and play. You don’t have to tap into the memory module to make them work. Of course, you still need to make a harness and connect them together if you want to enable heating/cooling. That’s the next step that I will be doing.

I used non memory seats, but if i recall correctly you would still wire pin to pin. The connecting harness was easy. The plugs, some wire, you are all good. I found a test port right above the OBDII port that I was able to plug into that provided the can bus +/-. I did not want to tap into the wires behind the dash plate. Bonus is I can just unplug if needed.

Hey guys, quick question.
Is there anything going to the seat backs or is everything in the seat cushion base?
I just went through adding leather seat covers. They were a pain to replace. The seat cushions are pretty easy and I can get the base seat with the heated and cool modules but was not sure I could just swap that part out to accomplish this mod.

I had the base model. The seats are all the same, manual lean position and power front back. They all work.

Thanks for responding so fast. Believe it or not mine are full manual. only option on mine was the performance pack. I have a set of h/c from a 2019 as well. If I can plug and play that would be great. Don't really need the h/c function right now. Thanks.

Wow. I thought I bought the absolute lowest spec mustang gt on the lot lol. Can you take a picture of the plugs under your seat? Madrid be that’ll give us some insight.

Ha worth a shot. Back to the original plan. If u do figure out the required voltages then please shoot them over

This might help. He says that the voltage for the fan must be reduced to 8V. If it is left at 12V the fan will be too loud. Hopefully the link will work
