Asking for a friend... no really! I let a friend drive my GT350 about a month ago and the next day he ordered one, after all, what are friends for?! He was just given his VIN but not the chassis number. Based on the timing and that Ford doesn't produce these cars in the winter, he's wondering how close to the end will his car be. ETA is mid-late December according to the dealer.

Does anyone with ties to Ford know how to find this out? I have his VIN, but not the chassis number.

@PP0001 ? Bueller?

That spreadsheet is very cool! Yes, his car is correctly listed but no chassis number. Wait, I just noticed the summary sheet. So only 2180 built in 2020? Wow! Lowest number not counting 2015.

I thought I read that chassis numbers and VIN numbers don't necessarily go in order, is that true?

I can only speak for myself. Been trying to anticipate my chassis number and can’t make any sense to it. As you can see the vin# are in some cases out of order. May car was just delivered today and will try to get a chassis number to add to the chart. Your friend will get an exceptional present for Christmas!! Yes what are friends for.

Please post your chassis number here also when you get it, just so I don't miss it on the spreadsheet.

I'm going to read that other thread now.

Isn’t the chassis number on the window sticker? Upper left hand corner?

A friend of mine just had his show up at the dealer. So it was JUST built and it's Chassis number about 1,500. Seems odd based on that spreadsheet, meaning, I can't imagine there are too many left to be built if they stop producing them in December. How are the Chassis numbers assigned, anyone know?

There isn't a correlation between VIN# and Chassis #. They stamp the vehicle for the X number that they produced so far (for the model year).

I’m betting mine is LR359, it will be here Tuesday, I’ll let you know. By the way that crappy pic is of the upper left hand corner of the window sticker.

Based on my 2018 window sticker, VIN and chassis, I'd say no. mine are not related.
