Good....I was trying to figure out if the issue that jmtoast has was related to the gear ratio and the shift into 7th gear.

Wouldn’t the 3.15 take longer to get into 7th gear vs 3.55 which means I’d have less chance of having what Jim is experiencing by the time I got to 123?

At the track I’ll be running 3.15/27.4 tire combo

You will definitely not hit 7th gear in the quarter mile. 3.55 geared cars hit 7th in the 120s.....depending upon rpm at shift point.

Ccull and 420 both have 3.55 gear and do not have the issue. I am not sure what gear jmtoast has.

I figure so but I would assume my car would go faster then 123 now, after all I went 118 NA

If I don’t pick up 8/10 mph I’d be upset (126-128) so I guess I could still see this issue Jim’s having too?

It will be interesting to see what Roush tells Jim about his issue. I am not clear if his cars fails to shift or exactly what it is doing when it hits 123 mph and stops pulling. Apparently, others are not having the issue. I won't know what mine does until I get to the track. If the 6th to 7th shift point is only 7000 rpm, a car with the 3.55 gear should shift to 7th at 125.62 MPH. I am hoping the shift point is at a bit higher rpm. If it is 7200, it shouldn't shift until 129 mph. That is probably faster than a P2 will run in the quarter so it wouldn't need 7th.

If you have the 3.15 gear and the shift from 5th to 6th occurs at 7200, it shift at approximately 123 mph. I wonder if Jim has the 3.15 gear and it is the 5th to 6th shift that is causing his issue???

Just got off the phone with Gavin at Roush. It is a known issue. They were working on the calibration to address the issue when covid-19 shutdown the state. They didn't give me any other details other than to open a case by sending an email to [email protected] detailing the issue and providing vin+mileage of your car.

Basically it sounds like there won't be a fix until their team is back to full capacity

oh and for the time being, until they are able to release a cal fix, manually shift at that gear and it will be fine past that point up to 155.

Wow, both ED and Roush in same boat. Crazy... Hopefully Roush will do the right thing and alter the tune.

Yeah they said they were working on correcting the issue just before covid-19 shutdown the state. Michigan has some of the strictest rules and the Detroit area is one of the hardest hit areas in the country. I'm very hopeful they will have a fix. My guess is it affects all their 2020 stage 3 and Jack Roush editions. They can't afford to have $80k+ cars with an issue like this.

Good news that they acknowledge the issue and were working on it prior to the virus. Hopefully, they can tweak a few other things in the tune as well. It is still odd that 420 and ccull do not seem to have this issue.

I am very anxious to get to the track and see if mine does this.

It will get fixed, the question is are all cars experiencing it?

I assume it’s a reflash, at some point it’s back to the dealer I go

John, can you describe this a bit more so I know what to look for? Does it fail to shift and hit the limiter or does it just stop accelerating and stay at 123?
