Hey GT350 guys, I went and test drove a used 17 this weekend and the dealer scrapped the crap out of it just getting it out of the dealer's driveway, which isn't flat but isn't particularly steep. I'm considering a used GT350 vice a new GT since by the time you add magnaride, active exhaust, 400 or 401A package the price difference isn't much, but the prospect of scraping every dip in the road and driveway is giving me pause. So how bad is it? Did I get an accurate representation?

You begin to adapt to taking the angles well. It scrapes a fair amount, but not as much as a C6 Corvette if you've ever driven one of those.

Plus, the front splitter is plastic anyways and can be replaced.

I lightly scrape the bottom of my R splitter everyday on my driveway. It's about 50/50. Sometimes I can get up and down and not a scrape. My driveway isn't steep at all. It's the transition from the road to lower drive to over the sidewalk. It is what it is.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.

Exactly my issue as well. I attack at an angle, but will occasionally scrape at that sidewalk to road transition. The splitter is replaceable, so not freaking out about it.

Thats why i bought my Bullitt so I didn't have to worry about breaking anything on the GT350.

Scraping is a fact of life with these. As others have said, the splitter is pretty durable. I've bottomed mine out pretty good on one occasion and I had minimal gouging on it to my surprise. As long as you don't smash it into any stop bars or sidewalks you should be fine.

seriously, its a small price to pay being careful with the splitter to drive one of these cars. I am just careful when going into parking lots and avoid speedbumps.

I have the ZL1 splitter protector washers on my R so they now take the brunt. That being said, especially in the R, there are some places the car simply physically can't go - many parking garages and some stores or gas stations with steep drives.

I felt sick the first few times I scraped the splitter but I quickly realized that it is just a fact of life with this car. You will slowly figure out what won't scrape and what you need to take at an angle. Even if you do, it isn't a big deal as the splitter seems to be very durable and easily replaceable. DO NOT let it stop you from buying one.
