The problem is that I can't hang in there for much longer. As stated like a broken record (sorry...) I'm buying my first home, so I need to know the cost of the car sooner rather than later. With the reduction in discount from C2C from 8% to 3%, it's not looking too rosy.
Just to cheer you up. Finance figures are now live on Fords site

£395 increase from today on the base price, really don't know what Ford are smoking at the moment.

Drove mine to work, stopped for a few cheeky photos in the sun :sunglasses: girlfriend got a new lens (Canon 10-18mm), naturally I needed to make sure it worked ok.

Pads and discs looking a little worse for wear following 2 track sessions/drag racing/driving like a yob for 17k miles.

Went ahead and bought EBC yellow stuff pads, and EBC Ultimax slotted discs. Was informed drilled was a bit more likely to crack, so skipped out on the slotted/dimpled variant (The "Turbo" discs).

Not a bad price all in, cheaper than ford are charging for OEMs. Just have to buy myself a caliper rewind tool and i'll have them installed once they've arrived.

if you're in a bind you can do it with a C-clamp and a pair of grips and a cloth

just remember each time you turn the piston with the grips tighten the c-clamp up afterwards.
Just watched a guide on this, so how does it work with the rear pistons that need turning?

Push in with C-Clamp and then twist with cloth, repeat?

pretty much yeah c-clamp around the piston and caliper (may need a bit of wood or something across piston mouth. wrap piston with cloth so grips don't damage it and use grips to turn piston, it'll be stiff at first but after you've got it moving it'll ease up. also to make it easier for you take the cap off the brake fluid reservoir under the hood it'll allow it to depressurise a little and make it much easier.

it sounds complex but its not much longer than doing it with specific tools.
