Hey guys if ant of you have or know anyone that has a FRPP Decklid Panel they want to sell I'm interested in purchasing this. It seems Ford Racing decided to discontinue this and no one has it. If someone knows of a vendor that is selling it that'd be great too. Thanks!

Haha I'm relatively new to the S550 group. Cannot understand why Ford Racing stopped selling them.
Quality control issues. Many people complained about a dimple in the center of the panel that was due to the injection molding process. It wasn't plainly obvious, but in the right lighting you could see the dimple.

This wasn't an issue that could be fixed in the manufacturing process, and hence Ford stopped offering the decklid for sale.

Oh ok that makes more sense. I was going to research it after Easter. I'm in the restaurant industry so this week has been hectic. Maybe wrapping or painting the MMD panel would be a better option.

They now offer the MMD decklid pre-painted. So if you chose Shadow Black finish, you would achieve the same look as the FRPP decklid.

Would it look exactly the same as the frpp? I wanted to buy a black GT badge...But if the shadow black it's exactly the same color could be a good option

Couple of members have posted photos and looks very similar once installed to the FRPP.

I'm sure the FRPP panel is better quality overall, but the MMD is a decent option given that there is no other new alternative available on the market.

i would like to delete rear decklid panel emblem but retain gloss black finish. i found the pre-painted MMD panel on-line like most people have. i work at a Ford dealer body shop and i did a little research. Ford exterior paint codes UA black is just gloss black, G1 shadow black has a super small amount of metallic in it. you can barely tell , but it's there. MMD UA black is out of stock, might just buy the matte black and have it painted. hope this helps out a few people.

To clarify you said Shadow Black is the best option to match the factory gloss black decklid panel? I'm clarifying because I would have thought just straight Black UA would be the closest.

Thanks in advance.
