GT Chin Spoiler on Ecoboost

Hey,

Something I'm a little curious with, a friend has given me a GT front chin spoiler, the stock one from the GT mustangs with performance pack.

(Like the one in the picture)

I have an Ecoboost with performance pack with the smaller front chin spoiler in the picture below

My question is, will the GT chin spoiler fit my ecoboost, a friend has just suggested something to do with the belly pans for both being different?

The chin spoiler will bolt right up to your bumper cover.
For the belly pan: you will need the PP GT pan to have it match up.
OR, you can get a Steeda splitter and do away with the belly pan altogether.

For clarification, there are 3 different belly pans:
1- Base EB / V6
2- Base GT / EB PP
3- GT PP this one has brake ducts and no rubber skirt ( you will need this one)

Is there a way to 'Make' the stock EB bellypan fit? Surely I can just drill the holes so they both still match up into the bumper? (as in holes in the bellypan) Or cut bits off the skirt?? :shrug:

You can give it a shot, not much to lose.
The rear mounts should line up.
The front and sides will be an issue. The base splitter is much shorter than the PP, and there are a whole bunch of screws and push pins to connect the 2.
If you transfer the attaching nuts and get creative with drilling and trimming, you might be able to make it work.

Suppose one will have to wait and see lmao... this could be a nightmare :lol::lol:

My thinking is it's shorter, but the mounting points both looked in the same location when I did a dry test, forgot about the midsection that the bellypan slides into. Think I might just secure that in place with some foam or something. Or just creative modding...

I'll write a review/guide for anyone who's as stupid as me to try it lol.

Keep in mind the at if you do future mods, that pan will have to come off. Don't make it impossible to remove.

I wasn't going to superglue it to the car, just relocate bolts and stuff ;)!:lol:

Hey just wanted to help...I recently put a,gt performance pack chin on My ecoboost..I was,able to modify my belly plate.been on now over month ..and with all this rain ..I have no issues..and was,a,simple mod ..I made plastic adapter plates to compensate for the size difference between the performers black chin spoiler and the stock EcoBoost Belly plate. And just to clarify my car is the EcoBoost with performance pack .so I have the belly plate with the rubber deflector.

I used the stock smaller chin as,the template to make the the adapters and I had to trim the front of the belly plate ..everything bolts,right up and if I ever wanted .I could go back to the stock one.

THANK YOU ..Yes I used a Rubbermaid heavy duty Tupperware lid I had lying around LOL.worked perfect ..stong and flexible..after a little bit of work everything when the back together like it was stock

What did you use to bond the pieces of plastic together? Anything specific that's durable?

I've got a few bits of plastin lying around including a 1-2cm thick plastic box from when I was a kid that i'm eyeing up for the cut ;)!

I actually was able to make the same holes that were in the stock chin spoiler .i was able to use most of all the same Fasteners I did need some extra ones though..you can either use screws or the plastic fasteners.
