Ive recommended EFI powerhouse to most of Bay Area/Norcal owners on here. But EFI is closing down. But my buddy Bob has a shop in Los Altos area who has been installing FI for S550 specific. DM me and I can give you his number.

Thanks Rio. I got Bob's number from the AirLift install inquiry. I'll give him a call.

Give them a call. I believe they do installs
Well! Spoke with Mike at Whipple. Unfortunately, they only provide install services for customers that purchase systems directly from them. Mike said that they aren't quite equipped to handle the numbers that would come in if they had opened installs to everyone local. So they offer, as a service, to those who buy directly from them. Bummed. In addition, as Rio stated they recommended EFI, but EFI is closing their doors for good. Performance Dyno Tuning, in Oakdale, which is on your way out to Twain Hart, east of Manteca, is the only other installer that Mike knew of to recommended. Thanks for the idea Tim! It was worth a shot.

Dang, no trip to Fresno, that sucks. I am curious as to what AED will say and do for your Whipple install. Let us know if you end up contacting them.

Alright, this is starting to make my blood pressure go up. Just called Performance Dyno Tuning. Quoted me $1300 for Stage 2 kit install, no mods. If even one mod has been done, like exhaust, which my car has, add $1300 for custom tune. In addition, my plan was to have the OPG, CS and damper installed while the car was apart. Gentleman told me the engine needs to be pulled out of the vehicle for an OPG install. Did not get that quote because it's not gonna happen. What the heck? Guys on the forums are doing this with the motor in the car.

I haven't had experience with Advance Engine Development (AED) yet, but plan to have my car dyno and tuned there in the near future. I did call them and they seem professional. They also worked on a lot of Mustangs and one of their guys got a 2016 himself. He ended up pulling the motor out and check the rings for break-in period and threw it on the dyno. They do engine rebuild along with everything else Mustang related. I can't say much about a Whipple install, but they may be worth a call.
So I called AED (see post#26 for shop name correction), Mootang. I agree. Dan seems really professional. He was up front and stated that he wasn't cheap, but followed up by saying that he reuses "nothing." Claims high quality workmanship with Whipple experience. Absolutely backed my suspicions of "labor cost inflation" and said that the motor does not need to be pulled for OPG, CS and damper installation. We all knew this. He quoted $3500 for everything. Needs about 5 days to make sure everything is right.

Nice, good to hear! That is a steep price tho, but it does reassure me about going to him in the future. Hopefully your search goes well unless you are set on a shop now?

Thanks!

Nope. Undecided on a shop still. Though, I find it hard to believe that my neighbor would screw me over. Service writer at Ford. The price just seemed high, so that's why I wanted to call around. But since talking with AED(see post #26 for correction) it appears he's right in the ball park.

I honestly would do it myself and if not confident enough, then AED. That should develop a relationship with them and later, have them do a dyno tune on top of it when you crave more. However, $3500 is really up there.

I have to make a correction to the information I provided. In posts #22 and #24, the shop I was referencing was Advanced Auto Electric in San Ramon. Not AED. Sorry Mootang! I wrote several numbers down on a piece of paper and crossed the numbers with shop names. I apologize for the error.

All good, just as long as you find a shop or it looks like some members here are willing to do it with you on self install :clap2:
