Today i've had possibly the least issues (infact none!) whilst adding some mods to the car, granted, most were a piece of piss, but ahem... every mod i'd done so far has had some issue.
I expected to be on my arse for hours getting the reg light out of it's hub.... That took all of 20 seconds  .
Expected to take forever to remove the Side markers to come out - took one try and they popped out...
So what've I done:
Diode Dynamics Red EU sidemarkers
Pressed Aluminium Reg Plates
Custom floor mats
(granted, not the hardest of mods, however knowing my luck the floor mats would have set on fire, the reg plates cut my hands off, and the side markers not have worked...)
Sidemarker install guide
Step 1:
Pop out the reg plate lights, fairly simple, get a small (Very small, like one you get from a christmas crackers) flat head screwdriver, on either of the sides push the little plastic bit 'Up' the other side will then fall out and you can pull the lights out to reveal the wires
Step 2:
Tap the wires (1 tap on each wire) these are pretty shoddy taps, but find something hard and plastic and ram them deep into the tap so that it splices the wire) - for safe measure I taped these wires up with insulation tape and electricians tape that I had lying around, not a real need, just stops them rattling about
(Not in picture)
Step 3:
First check the connectors work (see below pic for rest):
Feed the black connections in down the back of the hole so they drop to the diffuser panel, get under the car and pull them down, sort the wires out and decide which is going left, and which is going right, it really doesn't matter.
Step 4:
The fun bit (if you have a jack maybe
Zip wire the wires to parts of the bodywork, or other wires, not the easiest thing to do with limited room, but doable, I used 5 wires on each side, 3 to secure them to the bodywork/surroudings and 2 on each side to tie up the excess
Step 5:
On the side closest to the front, there's a clip, use BENT needle not pliers and gentle prize these together, you'll hear a slight click then push the sidemarker to the outside of the car, (gently).
From the outside, slide it forwards, and then feed the black rubber connector through.
Step 6:
Connect the black connector to the DD sidemarkers, unlock the car to make sure that they work, push the connector all the way in, and for safe measure, I taped this up as Diode Dynamics claim that 'water ingress' is what causes the LED's to fail - not on my watch
!
Step 7:
Put the sidemarker in, and repeat for the other side, win!
Pictures of mods:
Mats, red and black lining, rubber foot rest and 'Manders Mustang' embroided on the side.
There's two mats in the rear, without embroidery on, just the exterior stitching in black/red too.
Pressed Aluminium plates:
(Pain in the arse to remove previously 'stuck on' reg plates, jet washer and petrol worked a charm)
(Yes I sit on a football to do stuff like that!)
