NRMA should cover you in Vic. You should ask why not
My GT, Auto, Comp Orange, $704. per year, which was 50% cheaper than Shannons, who had a restricted mileage (6000km @ $1568 per year)
NRMA gave me, 2 years replacement or $74,600.
Gold member, youngest driver older than 25.
I also found NRMA were more expensive and gave lesser value online.
Best to ring and talk to a real person.

I already have insurance with NRMA at rather good rate but when I spoke with NRMA customer support they said that if I am moving to Victoria (resident of Melbourne) then they can't offer car insurance to me. I am being asked to cancel my insurance and pick up on in Melbourne. I don't know exactly why but it has to do with NRMA not holding insurance license in Vic or something like that.

If I was given a choice, I would stick with NRMA.

I got a quote for $2058 with NRMA with $1000 excess...

I was expecting $1000 for insurance tops!

Where I come from everybody calls AFL aerial ping pong, outdoor basketball or cross country netball. Lots of rules, nobody knows what the hell is going on and nobody cares.

No disrespect to Victorians and the like, but really that just about sums it up. I am sure it is the same for those who live in Victoria/afl states when it comes to rugby league. You have got to love Australia, eh? lol.

All good. Don't hate me folks, basically just the truth.

Cheers
Mustang Mick.

I'm glad I don't follow sports that involve chasing a ball!

Australia Post Insurance - $451 (with a $100 pre-paid Visa Card bonus) with $600 excess (restriction - all drivers 40+yo) & if I opted for $800 excess it would reduce the premium by $100. They also had 24month new replacement if written off.

AU post is quoting me $938 with agreed value, which is fantastic. Anyone have a experience with AU Post Car Insurance? I am wondering if they are easy to contact for claims and accidents.

I barely trust Aust Post with my mail. Takes them a week to get a package across town and that's supposed to be their core business.
