Every rim is all scratched up to hell. There's massive dents and scratches on my driver rear quarter panel from a hit and run while parked. One of my horns have been blown out for months now and I still haven't fixed it. My black car is full of swirls, scratches and paint chips.

Well now I don't feel so bad. My car at least stays "safe". Just not driven :p

I had a panel repainted by a guy that was "recommended" and after three tries it still doesn't match the rest of the car and I had to get my money back. And I haven't gotten it fixed yet, which will cost about $1,600 instead of the original $600. And to top it off, I haven't even made sexy time in my car yet... can you believe it?

It's funny you put up this picture. This is actually how I came to buying a brand new Mustang GT. I had a 2002 Mustang GT Convertible and a 2003 Chev Avalanche. I was working on the Avalanche and broke the windshield pulling off some trim. I wasn't paying attention and backed up with the trickle charger still plugged in the truck. The cord went taught next to a ladder in the garage where it was plugged in and knocked the ladder over on my Mustang! I broke 2 vehicles in 10 minutes. I was so mad that I fixed both of them and put them up for sale labour day weekend.

They both sold that weekend and then I had the down payment for my new car! So good things can come from bad experiences. Ha ha.

I've tried this, and it was tight as hell. Not exactly a bang bus :D

I've not driven my motorcycle all summer after getting the Mustang this spring :(

Ok, I think I have you all beat - I bought mine, only put 1200 miles on it in 9 months, bought a Procharger just to tease it, then sold it and the blower and bought a Camaro SS. rofl!

Gross, why downgrade? You had a fast car that looked sleek and exotic. Now you have a fast car that looks like a hotwheels toy...

not driving her at all now in the week, and not much at the weekend,
just fire up the remote start every few days, run for 15mins then turn off. lucky the neighbours are fine with it. And I can stay in the warmth
am I a bad owner?
:tsk:

Since you asked,:

Random scenario that led to dumping the GT/Blower setup for an STi - then my wife suddenly needed a new car, and she has always loved Camaros (her dad has had a 1969 since it was new!)

Found out about the red tag sale at Chevy (20% off MSRP, and then some) and got the 2SS loaded Camaro that stickered at $47,600 for $33,800 - couldn't pass that up!

FWIW, though I completely agree about the styling between the two, the Camaro interior is way nicer than my base GT was (not even close), as is the sound system, seats, features, etc etc. If I had a Premium GT, I probably could have talked my wife into keeping it for her daily, but the base interior didnt have enough features for her. Also, the performance difference between the auto GT and this auto SS is night and day.

I would still happily take a premium, Manual PP GT any day - but now having driven both the base auto GT and the 2SS, idk why anyone would buy a base GT over a base SS, unless exterior styling was the only factor. That, and it seems like the aftermarket has way more options for these Mustangs than for the new Camaros. Hopefully that will improve with time.

Yes, the major factor for me is the looks of the car, and I just can't find any redeeming value to the new Camaro's appearance, but I did give it a solid chance when it first came out. They just don't wow me whatsoever; they look a bit slapped together to me.

I will say that even though I bought a Base for the explicit reason that I intended to mod it out myself, I have come to realize that I really would have liked some of the Premium features and should have got a Premium. The Base is nice if all you're looking for is a V8 or a track car, but as my daily driver there's some creature comforts I sometimes yearn for.

Live and learn.

Yea, I felt the same way. I wanted a cheap Base GT so I could mod it how I wanted...but then I realized that 90% of the time when I'm in traffic or just out to enjoy the car in town, I wanted more out of the interior/sound system/features. I regret not spending a bit more and getting the Premium GT, but as you said, live and learn, and on to something new.
